This is Cannelle my workshop dog, shes a year and a half (supposed) border collie.
Took these pics with my panasonic Lumix FZ48 this autumn while on weekend in the Belgian ardennes, i am still learning the best way to take pics of furniture and stuff, but they came out kinda nice so i though i would share them.

(the last pic is her on the first day we got her)

Tim:
Those first two pictures are really nice. I particularly like the shallow DOF in the the second one.
She looks like Doberman cross to me...

Thank you Tim,
She has the color scheme of a Doberman, but apparently that is frequent with border collies. All the other pups were black and white and most had long hair.
I doubt she has Doberman blood lol because she's incapable of guarding. When i hear her bark in the workshop i know it is because she has seen another animal, when she sees a human she cries and starts to panic in fear that they may not come and welcome her. She is starting to calm down but still when she sees anybody, stranger or not she will try to lick them from head to toe for 5 minutes.

Timtool,
Great pics.

My first reaction was the same as tim Raleigh's.  I went to internet and have been studying the Border Collie and Doberman for last half hour or so to be sure.  The dog might have some Border Collie in it, but i see Doberman as dominant characteristics.  Both are great dogs.  Having spent more of my life with farmers I have had more experience with the Border Collies.

Could that be a Smooth Collie?  I would suspect that to be possible.  They are related to the Border Collie but with longer body features of the more common Rough Collie and short hair like the Doberman.  I am guessing the dog, to honor your statement, could be part Border Collie but the dominant genes are of the Smooth Collie.  The coloring is more that of the Doberman, so the dog is possibly a healthy mix.  Just MHO.

PS  I had printed this a while ago.  I always copy before posting.  when i tried to post, the computer became un trustworthy (mildly put) it took me a half hour to get it back to reliability.  With your explanation, i still believe there is a mixture there.

What a sweety. My little girl is a small terrier mix.

Shes funny she'll walk over to me scratch my leg, ll pick her up let her see what Im doing on the MFT , set her on it she'll sniff for a short while then Ill set her back down and she'll walk away.

She does that a few times in the course of a couple of hours.

Free running dog ! Love it . Wish my dog could jump , he can run like the wind but jumps like his ' best friend '  this is buster and his ' best  friend '

Here is mine "Brownie".
He is a Yorkshire Terrier, 1 year old.
He loves the workshop but prefers the van...and on top of our bed!

Here's Angel, our 8-9 month old Cavachon (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/ Bichon Frise cross).  I had hoped she could be a "shop dog", but right now she chews every scrap of wood in sight and then gets sick.  Plus, I usually wear a mask and I don't think it'd be fair to expose her to what I'm trying to avoid.  Finally - my space is so small I'd be stepping on her every other second.

I am a WWII buff so a border collie in the Ardennes stikes me as ironic. I know, I'm easily amused.  ::) Back to my corner now.
