Hey all,

Was using my mft3 this week with a clamp in the front groove.  The clamp wasn't tightened, just dangling out.  I left it like that overnight, came out the next day to use it, took the clamp out and went to take off the guide rail support piece.  It was completely jammed about half way through the factory stop and the end of the groove rail.  I could not get it to budge, with a swift whack from a dead blow mallet it came off.  Turns out something must have fallen or bumped into the front clamp and caused enough upward force to bend the ---- out of the front aluminum groove rail(not sure what the technical name is).  Now for the mystery...Nothing was laying by the table that could that could of fallen and hit the clamp, causing the upward thrust.  I cannot figure this one out.  Anyone care to chime in? javascript:void(0);
Huh

Coulda been one of these.......

......and your extended clamp may have seemed like a branch to him, having never seen an MFT/3 before.

Ahh, the raccoon theory just might be right on.  I was thinking more of a kangaroo bouncing up and down on it, but I started thinking there aren't many kangaroos in Portland.  The mystery continues......

When you say "came out'

Do you mean came out side?

Possible? I only say the is because of Rogers Rocky shot.

And if it was out side, did you leave the guide rail up and maybe

the answer is blowin in the wind?

Per,

Your detective work is good my friend!  The table was outside, but under a roof.  Anyone think that something as simple as bumping into the clamp could cause it?  Also, are the rails replaceable?

Well, the second mystery of "where's the parts diagram for the MFT/3"

was solved with Forrest Anderson's help in another thread.

For the parts diagram for the MFT/3 go to......

Festool USA parts catalog......
http://www.festoolusa.com/parts_diagrams.aspx

Don't look down in the obvious place, where the old MFT parts links are,

look above, to the right and click on the "browse our online parts catalog with diagrams" link

and then look at the left hand column under MFT/3 (it's spread over 2 pages)
