I have been a lurker for a long time now but decided to post some of my projects.
Just finished this slab desk, cut all the wood and milled it myself.
Book-matched the top and joined it with 10x50 dominos

Absolutely love the top. Great job on matching up the two sides for great appearance. Sorry don't like the legs though. I could see either some SS poles or some odd trapezoid support thing on either side. That's just my weird ideas though. Nice work.

Thanks, salvaged the wood off my farm. Was cutting up a tree that blew down when it hit me it was walnut. Salvaged about 3 truckloads of wood out out of it. have slabbed most of it, now just need to wait for the moisture content to drop to a usable level.

I ended up with a bunch of big slabs like this

Looks great!

I have a piece of Cocobolo that I'm doing the same thing with for an entry table.

Would love to see how you attached the legs to the top - can you post some pics?

Thanks!

Is there some accommodation for wood movement?  If not, you might want to go back and drill out larger holes for the screws on at least one end of each leg.

I made a little maple TV stand kind of like this a few years back.  The top is 11 1/4" front to back, but for the winter has shrunk by 1/16" in both the front and the back relative to the slab legs.
