NANIA thoughts?

Is there a reason some things are not sold in North America?  There are some things, like the TS55 insert for the CMS, that I would love to have, but they are NANIA.  Is it a safety issue?  An OSHA thing?  What's the deal?  I can see how a pretty powerful circular saw mounted upside down in a relatively small table could upset the babysitters at OSHA.  Hell, these are the guys who want me to wear a harness when I'm on a 6 foot scaffolding platform!

I've half a mind to take a vacation somewhere nice with a couple of empty suitcases and load up on the good stuff!

I sympathise and this has been discussed before.

Issues discussed then included market size (should not be a factor given market potential of NA), different regulatory controls between states (not an issue in AUS due to state agreements and Commonwealth Legislation, and in Europe there are uniform codes due to the European Union) , tool recycling, voltage difference, some differing building, furniture and construction practices and perceived market potential for some items.

Ah - this topic again ...

It'd serve the NA Festool buying populace well to be given official reasons why specific tools are not available, if it's being addressed ... and a possible when to the availability if ever likely.

If I was a NA Festool customer, the lack of other CMS modules and a few specific other tools would have driven me crazy ... though that said, prices in the US would probably have put me in a very large and comprehensive Felder workshop !! [eek]
