Now that I just purchased a Domino I was searching the net to see what was out there for accessories and documents for it.  I came across this accessory and was wondering if anyone has used it and what you thought of it.

Only any use if you have the older model with the pins rather than the later paddles

Why did they change from the pins to the paddles?

Because it turned out that another company owned a patent on using sprung pins in that type of application, so that forced the change. I can't remember the company, it's the one that makes the double-dowel jointing machine.

Edit: It was Maffell, I think

The pins were fussy to setup and cold work loose.  The paddles can be factory set.

Take a look at the MGS20 Domino guide doesn't do exactly the same thing but I wind up using it a lot.

I have the pins Domino, and I have these spacers.  I think they’re fantastic.  Just as with the pins, you can work without having to measure specifics.  Just attach a spacer and go to town.  You *do* have to remember to move the spacer from one pin to the other when you switch parts.  But it only takes a second.

They are nicely machined, have a magnet in them, which holds them in place on the pins.  One of the first things I got from John and I would definitely buy them again.

The only thing I would change, is to engrave the sizing / offset onto the face of the these.  I plan to do this with a Dremel or something, so in the meantime I wrote on them with a Sharpie.

Ditto on all counts.  I love them.  I also Sharpied the sizes on them.  They are a reason I'd rather have a pin Domino vs the paddle types.

When i bought my domino i tried to get a new one with pins but i couldn't so i ended up with the paddles. I didn't want to buy a second hand one.  I was gutted really.

I'm the guy responsible for the narrow-stock spacers. They are available on ebay but for FOG members who contact me directly I can give you a break on shipping. (Free in the U.S.)

As already mentioned, these will only work on the older dominos with the locating pins

And as with all of my products, if you aren't happy with them, send them back and your funds will be refunded.

Hi John,

I have the version with the tabs so it looks like I am out of luck unless you are working on a version for them.
