Need help - Good Vendor To Buy Festool Parts?

Hi.  It's been a while since my last post.  I hope all is well with the folks on the forum.  Now about my problem...

My CT22 is getting old, but it still works great and I have several accessories for it.  It has been very useful for outside projects and portable cleanup.  So I don't want to replace it.

However, several months ago one of the back wheels snapped off, damaging the black chassis - part #452841.  After trying to epoxy it back together, it failed again and I ordered a new chassis.  However...

I'm a bit concerned about the vendor - mmToolParts.  I ordered the part on 5/1.  As of now (5/8) the order status is still shown as "processing".

When I started a chat with mmToolParts this morning, the wait time was supposed to be 3 minutes.  After more than 30 minutes, I closed the chat.  A bit ago, I tried to phone their customer service, but was forwarded to voice mail... Where I got a message saying that the person's voicemail box was full.  Then I tried opening another chat.  It said that I was #1 in the queue and the wait time would be about 6 minutes.  It's been over 50 minutes.

So now I'm concerned.  Has anyone had good luck with mmToolParts?  Any other US Festool parts vendor available?  Can I get this part through a normal Festool vendor?  Is it feasible to order directly from Festool?

Thanks and regards,

Dan.

Dan,

  Welcome back ! [smile]

Personally I would cancel that order. It doesn't seem promising.  Try calling Festool for the part.

Hello Dan and welcome back to the FOG.

I have no experience with mmtoolparts, however ~a week without any status change looks suspicious.

First thing I would look into is about your method of payment. If you used your credit card, check if it has been billed. If so I`m afraid that you will have to wait for the 20 days period of goods/service delivery. Then I would contact my CC supplier and have them cancel the transaction.

Good luck, Mario

Gentlemen,

Thanks for the feedback.  I paid using PayPal, so I believe that I'm fairly well protected.    I'll try contacting Festool directly.

Best regards,

Dan.

Hi.  I contacted mmToolParts and cancelled my order, and talked to a very nice woman at Festool.  I got through to her immediately and ordered my CT22 chassis quickly.  Very nice discussion and responsive customer service!  Highly recommended.

Again, thanks for the advice.

Regards,

Dan.

Hi Dan!  Glad to see you back!  That old fashioned way of ordering by phone works really well with Festool when it comes to parts.  Obviously they have their heavy times, but a voice beats bytes in my opinion.

For what it’s worth, I have used MM numerous times with good success.
