I have to say I just bought the 2200 router and extra accessories .......amazing router!!!!!! I just love it it is so powerful very quiet with soft start the best dust extraction and just plain awesome..... I have both the other 1010 and the 1400 routers but this 2200 is far better than I thought.

I am making a bed for my littlest grand daughter in 19 mm hoop pine ply starting tomorrow using the router for the shaping profiles with slots etc so I am looking forward to really getting into this router on what design I have planned.....thanks Festool for making such a delightful router to use I am excited with this purchase.

STOP IT!!

I'm too weak to resist [embarassed]

^ What he said, I keep telling myself I don't need the 2200 at the same time as looking for reasons to get one.

574354 20% Router OF 2200 in T-LOC Systainer $885.00 $708.00

Get it

Got it

Good

One's available.....

Nooooo... I've been trying not to get one to put into my CMS table and have my 1400 as my hand held router... This is just rubbing salt ;-P

Resistance is futile!!!

[big grin]

I really like my 2200. If my trainer is out, I just do 20 curls lifting the router.

Seriously, it is a well thought out and executed router.

I got myself a 2000 basic @ 20% discount with no systainer for less than 200$ so thats another option. I got a Microfence edge guide for it and the thing is just amazing.

I used it to recess the top track for bifold doors up through the existing finish board and framing and it ripped an 1 1/4" deep by 1" wide grove in 2 passes with no dust, its crazy.

OF2200 was one of my first Festool purchases. It is a beast of a machine but the size and weight along with the soft start make it incredibly smooth and easy to use. With that much power and a top quality cutter variations in wood density or grain pattern are not a problem, a hot knife through butter springs to mind. The only downside is that one router is never enough and you will soon need an OF1400/1010/MFK700

I'll have to admit to being a bit intimidated by the size, weight and power the first time I used the OF 2200, but that dissipated rapidly once I got used to its refined character.

It's fantastic in cms and mfs as well, I use mine in the mfs for hardwood stair stringers and make my own hardwood handrails in the cms

Now that's forward thinking, I like it. :)

Sleeeeeppppp , sllleeeppppppp, slllleeeppppp,

at the sould of my fingers you will buy the 1010..

snap!

Used many routers

Nothing has come close to the OF2200 even festools smaller routers.

The 2200 is a beast it has served me well for many years and still going strong.

I have giving it some heavy use in the cms as a mini spindle moulder.

Yes agreed it's very good but I still don't particularly like the plunge lock mechanism even having used it for some time now. The dust collar that comes down when released with the catch does not work sometimes and gets stuck.

I agree with that!  The dust collar does my head in!

If you distort the collar into a egg shape it helps!

We have one at  work the weight is great for using on Corian and the dust extraction is great.
