New addition to my family and not a Festool

This my new puppy who is now 15 weeks old and weighs in at 45 lbs. He is a Dogue De Bordeaux and the vet thinks he is going to be 150-160 full grown based off weight gain per visit. The first pic is him laying next to my full grown boxer. Second pic is him at 10 weeks old.

Great looking pup Don!  Looks a lot like the one I had before she passed.  She was about 125 pounds at her heaviest.  I would buy another in a heartbeat if we didn't still have the lab and beagle.

He is certainly a nice looking guy.  I love all the breeds of the Mosler family.  As we shared a while back my Boerboel will get to about the sane weight.  She's a year and a half and weighs about 150 & is still putting on a little weight.

What do you plan om feeding him?

Right now we feed him Diamond. Rand puppy food.

Grain-free to avoid gas  [big grin]

I feed my lab with frozen raw meat/vegetable.

Stay away from grain, corn especially. Here in Canada there is no regulation for pet food and manufacturers often use saw dust as a filler  [eek]

I can’t imagine saw dust as filler, poor babies. These dogs are known to belch and have gas. I don’t know if a no grain food would change that. The food we give is definitely of better quality, meet is the first ingredient.

My DDB didn't have gas or belch often, thankfully.  We had to feed her raw hamburger for about the first year cause she refused to eat any dog food no matter the brand.  Eventually she started to eat the same food as our other 2 dogs.

My male had gas, belched and snored. My female was not as bad but still had her moments.

Another thing to look at, is the amount of water your dog drink. My dog was drinking over 4 liters of water every day. I was worried about diabetes and visit the vet. She told me that the food might be the cause. All dog food contains a lot of salt and some at a higher percentage. This is when two years ago I switch to feed him with raw meat.

I like thew fact that it`s arguably real meat, beef, chicken, turkey and horse meat.
