When I hand sand on the MFT, I like to have the vacuum running to collect dust. I got tired of hunting for the nozzle so I thought a few seconds and came up with this "cradle." the rubber band catches the ribbing on the hose and makes it really convenient. [attachimg=1][attachimg=2]

Now you just told us that the new sleeved hoses aren't such a good idea after all! [big grin]

This one is better than my last one, because it doesn't take up room on the MFT. Stoopid-simple, but maybe it helps someone else who likes to hand-sand everything.

Could you share parts list and a set of plans, please?  [big grin] [poke]
Good job!

Nice idea!

This week I was doing  a lot of repetitive router work and the snagging hose was driving me mad. So I rigged a similar arrangement based on a clamp, but for a different purpose.

Its three lengths of 1 1/2" waste pipe, one piece split so I could get it over the clamp horizontal piece. Perhaps I could incorporate your idea too somehow.

I am sure everyone has seen the bungee cord hanging from the ceiling hose holder. I added a piece of curved PVC  conduit to mine. Makes the hose and cord slide easily. Works well with the ribbed type hose too.

Here's my solution. I screwed some Incra T-tracks to the beams in the ceiling. A button head bolt with a low profile slides smoothly through the slot.  An eye nut provides a place for a carabiner and a short length of chain. An S-hook that is large enough to hook the hose in completes the "system". Works great for me.
