New Bosch 12 inch slider

Brice posted a thread about this saw it looks very interesting would love a chance to try it out.I have never been a fan of bosch but it might be the bees knees.

Dam!! been posted a million times sorry guys! [mad]

I do have to agree with you Stool, I dont have anything Bosch but this might change that...particularly if it dosnt cost anywhere near the ever so slightly expensive Kapex...?1000 yikes! [eek]

Since it uses a fancy lever-based mechanism instead of the usual bars, can this saw still be referred to as a 'slider'?  [blink]

"While I don’t think there is a better saw on the market today for a shop set-up"

Those are big words there and a heck of a claim to make.  :)

Also translates into a boat anchor that is not easy to carry or move around. [big grin]

Yeah he said that, but I don't carry my saw around anymore, those days are long gone. I stay in the shop and that's where I will be for the remainder. To me this is more a shop saw. I sure would like the Milwaukee miter gauge on it though. Since I got used to that I just can not give it up.  :)

For a shop saw, I would rather have an Omga.  At least they were designed to stay still and are built that way (very heavy).

I don't see a sliding miter really being made to be a shop type saw.

For a shop saw this CCMS seems to be a real bargain --> saves you lots of money on a dedicated shop Vac
as attaching a Vac would be fairly useless on this saw  [big grin]

Credit goes to my beloved Kapex for great DC - thus saving my lungs  [thanks]

It works for me.  :) There is always something better out there.

I consider my self lucky my dad and grandpa had no power tools like we have now. So I will be happy with what I have.

I seem to make perfect miters and cuts with the Milwaukee, Rigid and yes even a Kapex(I no longer have it) and they are all nice shop saws in my opinion.  :)

These saws do not have near the capacity I need:

A properly adjusted slider gives a good enough cut for anything I have ever made out of wood.

I have allways like Bosch tools. That's all i used before i got hooked with Festool. After reading reviews on that new saw,i don't think it is all that.
The cutting capacity is not all that great for a 12".Dust control is somewhat ok.The weight of the saw is on the heavy side. The review stated that it is hard to pick up/hold the saw for transport.
But then again,i have the Kapex and i don't feel that it is the best saw,  GOOD, but not perfect.
I guess what matter the most is how good it cuts. And stays that way.The Kapex does that very well.Hope the new Bosch does the same.

I will stick with what I have.  :)

I do have a 3 phase converter now,       well... maybe I should... NO, I'll stick with what I have.
