Hi everyone!
Just got my new C15 overnighted... unpacked it... put battery on charger... put fully charged battery on drill... pull the trigger... NOTHING!!! Hold the trigger down for two seconds and it does the slow start thing, comes up to speed and continues running even after the trigger is released. I have to remove battery to stop. Did this a couple of times and noticed that it only spins in reverse even with the toggle in the forward position.
I am not only disappointed because I paid $90 in overnighted shipping costs but also because I don't have a drill to work with tomorrow!!  I own a couple of Festool products and even rock a Festool sticker on my truck.... I think I will send the drill back... remove the sticker... and not talk about how bad ass Festool is anymore.

Please tell me I am missing something very elementary!!!! Anyone had this problem??!?!?!?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the FOG!  [smile]

Sounds like you need to return it for a replacement. I think you should contact the dealer about it. Hopefully they will work things out.

Please post on how it works out.

Big ouch on the overnight shipping  [crying]

Seth

Thanks Seth.
Will do... But im not really sure I want a replacement. I might just try to get my money back.

Well that works too, shouldn't be any problem.  Don't let it put you off Festool, seems like you got a rare lemon.

How many of these have you seen?? I see that you have a festool service telephone number in your signature.

I'm not employed by Festool, and I am not affiliated with the service department. I have the number there for handy reference when replying to posts that involve tool problems.

I don't get it. If you got other Festool products and liked them enough to put a sticker on your vehicle why let this experience make you do a 180 on the brand? Festool is just like any manufacturer occasionally something like this may happen.

Sounds to me like you got a defective product just return it or exchange it should be hassle free. If you call the dealer or call Festool's customer service they may be willing to overnight you a replacement, either way a phone call looks to be the first step to a resolution.

Welcome to the board.  [smile]

EDIT: I did not realize what section I was in.  [embarassed]

I'm not well versed on servicing the tools, but it sounds like a faulty electronics module maybe. The service department can offer advice and assistance to help you get the issue resolved. Unfortunately, they're not going to be able to get you a drill by tomorrow.

If I can be of assistance, feel free to contact me.

Shane

Thanks Seth!

Sean, Paying $585 for a drill that does not spin clockwise make me think twice about advertising Festool products. They are 2 for 3 right now... 66% is not very good.

Shane, Thanks for understanding the importance of having a drill today. I may give you a call.
Thanks,
Mark

I'm certain that many Festool owners are zero failure on delivery.

Personally I'd advise letting the dealer and Festool make their best efforts to rectify the problem.

$90 delivery sounds rich ... Is this something the dealer offered for express delivery? That isn't a Festool cost.

My C15 is a great drill ... It's probably little consolation to tell you that if you hadn't received a faulty one, you'd be very happy with it.

Failures happen and it's sucks to be the unfortunate statistic - but you can see by observation on this site, Festool bends over backwards as much as possible to support it's customers.

Kev.
