New Centrotec HD?

Just like the staircase drilling set in a systainer, this could be a new offering targeting a particular application such as decking as was mentioned earlier.

The Forstner bits in the new set are not Zobo I don't think. They don't have replaceable tips!, which is a bloody shame seeing as I just broke the tip off the 35mm one.

Decking has been mentioned a few times, but wouldn't that suggest the 18V impact we've all been asking for?

Do I see a new Centrotec 1/4 hex chuck there?

You mean the Festool grip with the Wiha bitholder it's called SD-CE-Drive-Uni (200140).
And yes it already came out this Spring as part of the 2015 Wood Centrotec Systainer (500875).
But is also sold separately and indeed it holds normal bits.

Does it do a better job at being not so wobbly with hex drill bits?

Do you know the part number of the spare bit holder (without the festool grip)?

Yes I have the separate Wiha CentroFix bitholder which is suited for all regular bits and holds them very good.
Is also specialy suited for long bits and drills and you can change bits with one hand.

I thought dutchie was talking about the 1/4" hex bit on the left (3rd from the left).

Can anyone explain to me why there's 2 Centrotec chucks and 2 regular 1/4" hex magnetic bit holders?

In my Centrotec Systainer I got 2 Centrotec chucks but I figured 1 was for the old-style screwdriver and the other was for a Centrotec adapter for standard chucks. That to me makes sense but I can't figure out why they included two Centrotec chucks in this set above!?

The ratchet looks nice, I just looked it up online and I think it's one of these:

Yes I did mean the seperate 1/4" hex bit holder on the left. If it holds hex drills better (less wobble) I'd order one in a heartbeat.

So the set does seem an odd collection. But I'm interested in that new hex bit holder, looks longer than the others & maybe better for long bits/drills  . . . .

I am going to take a guess here, but that looks like an updated ¼" bit adapter. The old one was a lot longer, that looks nice and compact (if that is what it is).

It has a ball detent in it for longer bits.

Maybe Phil can pipe in on it.

Cheers. Bryan.

I had a quick look at the set at the roadshow in Edinburgh last week. I passed on the set as everything I need is covered with
- 500875 2015 Wood Set
- 497628 CE-SORT 98 Piece Assembly set
- 496390 Festool CE Set D15-35 Forstner Centrotec

As mentioned above the Forstner bits in the set are new, and don't have a replaceable central pin.

The driver is labelled BHM-65, I can't see it as a separate part.

Cheers

Dave

Talking of the forstner bits. . . Dies anyone know the part number for the pilot drill that fits into the forstner bits instead of the spike? I broke mine the other day.

I got a feeling that you have to buy part no,  497268 replacement centre point and brill bit set.

I got my kit today and its very nice!  [big grin]
havent tryed it yet but its real pure heavy duty ,i think the systainer weight is around 6kg

the tape measure are a typical "made in china" piece but the quality is ok, but i dont think i never would use it!

I found out the knife is available separately. I ordered it together with some other festool bits and pieces I needed. Should have it somewhere next week.
