New circle cutter?

Popped into the local Festool shop for some abrasives and my rep handed me the new catalog. In it was a new circle cutter for the trion saws that had a max radius of over 9'! It looks a bit like the innards of a tape measure. Anyway, the accompanying (and very annoying!) price booklet did not have a price for it and it's not on the Festool website. Anyone have any info on this item? I'm a concrete artisan and would love to have this for making curved counters and certain sink radius cuts.

Thanks,
Mike

If it's this one down here:

then it's the new circle cutter for the new Carvex PS 400 and not for the Trion PS 300. I don't think it fits the Trion.

I saw one in the catalog, but my understandingis that they are not available in the US until the new saws are released.

For the PS300 (Trion) and PS400 (Carvex) there are two types of circle cutters.
And they can't be mixed.
PS 300: #490118 connected to baseplate (max. 720 mm/28")
PS 400: #497443 tape measure with plastic baseplate (max. 3 m/118"), only available when Carvex is on the market

The circle cutter with the inards of a tape measure is for the new Carvex, not for the Trion.  The circle cutter for the Carvex together with the base adapter required to operate it is 447 443.  There is no entry for it yet in the Festool USA price list.

Thanks. IF they make something like that for the trion, I am all over it! Not worth it to buy a carvex, but definitely a worthwhile upgrade from the current trion circle cutter.

You are correct.

After reviewing the new circle cutter, the UL determined it was possible for end users to make measurement errors when cutting circles and found the "personal risk" factor to be unacceptable.

Good one 'fritter63'!  [big grin]  But, unfortunatly,  it get far to close to the truth  [crying]
