New cooltainer

The one that has the accessory holder on the top?

Seth

Apparently the new one can hold growlers; the old one is too short to do so.

I'd imagine the mug and bottle openers will find their way to eBay in a few months' time, sometimes less.  I've seen one seller who seems to specialize in buying sets of things and then selling all of the constituent parts individually.

The new one is supposed to come out in November it is a sys 4 size I think.

The old Cooltainer was a Sys-IV; the new one is 10mm taller than a Sys-V!

I was talking about the one linked in simnik's post above.

Maybe I misunderstood a video I watched, did this come out last November? For some reason, I thought it was new this year? I also hoped it would be in a darker than normal color. It is taller and has a couple of cool pieces in it in the link above. I really don't need any of it.

I don't think that's an accessory holder, I think there's a picture of the accessories packed in a cardboard insert the way they would come from the factory.

It's new this year.  A number of retail partners have posted in the Retailers section for pre-orders, and I've gotten e-mails from both Toolnut and BIS about it, I believe.  Sedge showed it off in a recent Festool Live video, which is how I knew about the growlers.

I wouldn't mind having the coffee mug and the bottle opener, but I also have the Wera bottle opener, which is just as kitschy-cool as a T-Loc-shaped bottle opener.  I have yet to use my T-Loc gen Cooltainer for anything other than stacking another systainer.

Oh, yup, I see now ...... just cardboard.

That link is 405 for me  [sad]

Darker would make no sense. Something that needs to stay cool better not adsorb a lot of inbound heat.

Very odd...

The old limited-edition super-navy Cooltainer was a Sys-IV, and most of the Festool branded gray/green ones were, too.  The Tanos-branded model is a Sys-V.

So the new limited-edition Cooltainer, which is just a plain-jane Sys3 M437, is pretty much the same size as the old Tanos version, but definitely taller than the Festool version.

There may have been a Festool-branded Sys-V size model in the normal gray/green, too, since there was a Tanos-branded version in that size, but most were Sys-IV's.

Maybe I should look more closely and more often at the pile of stuff I've been hoarding in my garage...

I got the Festool email about this today but it is way to expensive. At those prices I would much rather have a Yeti.
