I was looking at buying a CT26 before the March 1st price increase in Canada, but have just seen the Festool USA site is showing an upgraded dust extractor with the bluetooth and the new hose.
I'm wandering if these will be available in Canada soon, if so, I will hold off?
Thanks

Do the new vacs (26, 36, 48) include the BT module?  Or do you need to purchase the $80 set with module/remote or just the remote?

[member=13462]live4ever[/member], the Bluetooth module is an accessory, sold separately.

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] - it looks like according to Festool USA's web site (and the photo of the vac with the round green button), the Bluetooth is included in the new CT's. https://www.festoolusa.com/power-tools/dust-free#Bluetooth

Yeah that's exactly why I was asking - the website makes it sound like the BT connectivity is an included feature of the new vacs - otherwise they're no different from the old vacs in that respect - both need the module.

See the footnote.

I'm pretty sure it's only saying that they are COMPATIBLE with the Bluetooth module, which is sold separately.

ETA: [member=101]Festool USA[/member] [member=57769]TylerC[/member] - heads up, this seems confusing to potential buyers. Thanks.

Ah, so what this means is that the new CT (E) comes with the sensor, but you have to spend another $45 for the remote.

[member=42263]c_dwyer[/member], again, no. It's comes with neither the module in the vac nor the remote control. BOTH are sold separately. It's just saying that the CT SYS/MINI/MIDI cannot use the BT at all. The 26/36/48 can use it, but it's an accessory, not included.

Dealers received information that listed what's included with the new vacs and BT was not listed.

Just to add another reason to support my thinking that the module and remote are not included with the new vacs is pricing. The new vacs are $30-40 more than current models. The BT module and smooth hoses are worth more than that amount. So, I don't think the increase price supports the Bluetooth being included.

Also, the BT module is not shown in the photos of the new models on the Festool UK site. Also not shown in the new product photos for US dealers.

Apologies for the multiple posts. Just scrambling to make sure I didn't misinterpret the info on the new vacs.

Ok, ok, I'm with you. Not wanting to be at odds, but the information provided on the web site is not clear.

It says:
"* Only new versions — CT 26 E, CT 36 E, and CT 48 E include the new features included above including Bluetooth compatibility (Bluetooth batteries and remotes sold separately), updated hose garage, and additional new features."

It doesn't say the "Festool 202097 Bluetooth Remote Control Set" sold separately, just the bluetooth batteries ($110) and the remotes ($45) are sold separately. So budget-minded folks who will want that feature will need to know that it will cost them an additional $80 for the "Remote Control Set" that is not included, and not order a remote for another $45 that won't activate it.

Shane - I'm in no way suggesting that you are incorrect - of the 3 CT's on the web site where the front panel is visible, two have the receiver (round green button-looking thing) and one doesn't. Currently, the information on the web site does not line up with the information that Festool is providing dealers.

[member=42263]c_dwyer[/member], I definitely don't take any of it personally or feel like we are at odds. Just trying to figure this out now that doubt has been cast on the topic. I agree that the communication, to dealers and the public, isn't 100% clear. Hopefully, we'll get a definitive answer from Festool shortly.

I hope that I'm wrong and customers will get the Bluetooth module pre-installed. That would be a sweet bonus.

I seem to also recall being told the older CT26,36 and 48 were upgradable to bluetooth, and perhaps that "kit" is for those of us with older CT's, while new buyers only need the remote or battery, depending on personal preference.  Can't wait for clarification from Festool....

I received verification from Festool USA this morning that the new vacs do not come with Bluetooth included. It is available as an upgrade for the CT 26/36/48 only.

This reminds me of when the "high definition" TV's were first being sold.  The early models would be listed as being "HD Ready", and still needed a special box on the tv to actually deliver HD.

So, the new CT's are "Bluetooth ready", but require a special insert to actually deliver Bluetooth capability.

Thankfully, my plans only involve retrofitting my existing CT26, so the "Bluetooth kit" is all I need......

Thanks Shane for the clarification.

I just bought a CT26, how can I tell if it is the old or new model?

[member=67787]tri4sale[/member], welcome to the forum.

What item number did you order? 583492 is the old model. 574930 is the new.

The new version has a green T-LOC knob on the side and a hose with a braided sleeve.

Link with a photo of the new model:

Thanks, looks like I've got the older model (583492).  Not sure if the shop I bought has the new model yet.
