New Domino out of Adjustment?

In this case it was an exact fit mortise on both sides.  Typically if I am just cutting a single mortise (like joining the corner of a face frame) I like to make them both the exact same size.  If I have several across a larger piece than I cut one exact and the other side the larger size to allow for adjustment.

Even when the domino is in perfect adjustment you will get the odd mortise that doesnt line up perfectly. I attribute this to user error plus the odd piece of saw dust between the pin and the piece or if using the window a bit of parralax error.

I usually just cut one side tight and cut the otherside loose. that way I can make sure everything is perfect befor the glue sets.

If I want both mortises to be tight I generally have to be really fussy with the layout and the cutting of the mortises.

I apologize in the delay of my posting (I know everyone has been on the edge of their seats  ;D), but last week my Domino came back.  The sheet that was enclosed in the package showed the adjustments that were made to include the fence, and cutter sweep.
Everything is dead on now.  The sight window, the triangle windows and the point all line up perfectly.
I was very pleased with the way my local Rockler store handled everything.  They were great, took care of all the shipping and loaned me their demo while mine was in for repair.  Festool turned the tool around in 24hrs, the only delay was a few days shipping each way.  Overall I am very pleased with the service from Rockler and Festool.
