Pre-order the new Festool CT 15 HEPA Dust Extractor, the perfect blend of capability and value. This new feature-rich dust extractor offers many of the capabilities of the Festool dust extractor line up but at the most economical price of the CT lineup, only $349.

Also, a notable new accessory is being introduced which is a telescoping handle that's compatible not only with the CT 15 but also the CT MINI I and CT MIDI I. Note that the handle is not compatible with units manufactured prior to 2019, which can be identified by knobs on the control panel.

The CT 15 shares the same bags, filters and accessories with the newly introduced CT MINI I and CT MIDI I.

Order now, ships April 1st!

FYI, I put together a chart showing the differences between the CT 15 and MINI/MIDI.

How does the new CT 15 compare to the recently introduced CT MINI I and CT MIDI I?

I've seen some confusion about this and received a message from a customer about it, so wanted to post about it.

The CT 15 does not have Bluetooth or an option to add Bluetooth if that matters in your decision. The CT SYS also has no Bluetooth option.

The new MINI/MIDI have integrated Bluetooth and the CT 26, 36 and 48 have an optional Bluetooth module available.

Hey Shane, do you know if the telescopic handle fits the previous version of the CT Midi?

[member=63201]RustE[/member], great question and something that I wondered myself when I saw it. The official word from Festool is that it's only compatible with the newer CT MINI I and MIDI I from 2019+. We have many industrious members here and I have a feeling someone may find a way to make it work with older models. Since this was only announced today, we don't have the handle in hand to check out ourselves but will offer more details once we get one.

Hey RustE, the new handle is not compatible with the older model MINI/MIDI. Eight screws hold the handle to the CT, and the previous model does not have the holes needed to install the handle correctly.

Thought I’d post a picture of mine, with handle. The whole assembly attaches to the tub alone

[member=71429]DerickC[/member], thanks for hopping in the thread with those details.

[member=71478]FestitaMakool[/member] thanks for sharing those photos, which offer a better view of it installed.

[member=9356]pettyconstruction[/member] excellent point for those wanting a dedicated Kapex vac.

How quiet is it compared to the others vacs? As quiet as the rest of the line up? If so, this will replace my screaming loud shop vac on my CNC. I've been running a ct36 on it for a while but would be happy to not have to move it back and forth.

[member=43024]Kevin C.[/member], the CT 15 shares the same motor (part no. 496270) as the new CT MINI I and MIDI I, so the noise levels should be identical. In reality, this is just the CT MIDI without some bells and whistles.

So...

Noise Level: 62-72 dBa

[member=71429]DerickC[/member] can probably confirm 100%.

Great thought, that would replace my Fein vac for the Kapex while also maintaining a smaller footprint and standardizing on the same dust bags. The only thing that needs to be changed is a 30 mm hose to the Kapex...food for thought. Thanks 🙏 🙏🙏

So why not buy this vac of a CT ? bluetooth...?

Whats the quality of the motor like, same cfm ?

[member=12487]duburban[/member] No Bluetooth, even as an option. Same motor as the CT MINI I and MIDI I at 130 CFM.

Is this antistatic with an antistatic hose?

[member=6605]ScotF[/member] The vac has the grounding capability to support anti-static but comes with a non-anti-static hose. You would need to purchase an anti-static hose separately if needed.

How does the CT Midi work for the Kapex?  Thinking of this for mine, but want to ensure it would work well enough.

[member=66389]veric13[/member] The CT MIDI is a great choice for the Kapex. We have a lot of customers, and there are plenty of folks here on the FOG, who use the MIDI as a dedicated Kapex vac. I've used my MIDI with my Kapex and no issues at all.

Since the Kapex produces fine dust, the capacity of the MIDI is more than adequate. I'm sure others will share their personal feedback and experiences.

What exactly is the benefit of antistatic?

[member=6558]ForumMFG[/member] Anti-static hoses will prevent dust from clinging to the hose, which can result in dust being spread around your work area. Anti-static hoses are generally less flexible and slightly heavier. In geographic areas with extremely low humidity, static shock can be experienced too with a hose that isn't anti-static.

So I should be good to go to run a shortened non-antistatic hose from my Kapex to the CT26 without fear of damaging any electronics/circuit boards if I do not live in a low humidity environment?
