new festool extractor?

Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ll certainly jump for a 36mm hose then, preferably 5m. I’ll even test extending with a smaller diameter hose in the tool end. It might work for the odd occasion. I see that CT Mini till to at least CT36, is coming standard with a 27/36 hose... it is only the CT SYS that comes with 27/27 hose.. Even that combo has worked with my Makita 18V palm router.

And yes, the CT 15 would be an economically good alternative to stationary work as table saw dust collector. It is well above $200 cheaper than a Mini/Midi, and you can stay Festool, and use almost all accessories you have from before with it.

I think this Vac looks like it totally hits a niche.

I have a CT26 and of I need a second vac. I don't want Fe$$tool $pend.

I was going to buy a Fein, but the small Fein isn't Hepa, and this is at that price point. Plus now my hoses and accessories coordinate.

Easy choice for a second vac now. I'm totally picking one of these up.

It doesn’t interest me in the slightest, we have 26’s and Midi’s and the Midi is barely big enough in many situations, so any further vacuum purchases for us would be 26 minimum.

I get that some want a Festool vacuum but, won’t or cannot pay the normal Festool prices, which is what this product is probably aimed at. It seems false economy to me, as it is a stripped down version, and lacks the features that attract most to Festool in the first place.
If you replace the features, like some here are already talking about hose upgrades, it become less of an economy model?

In the UK I know people get asked in surveys, and in general conversations at tool shops, if they’d consider Festool as a brand, and the majority will nearly always say not for the prices they charge.
Once the penny drops at what Festool is all about, many will overlook the price tags, especially pros that earn good money.

With the current situation, not many, pro or otherwise are earning good money, so maybe economy versions will be more common place in future?

Again in the current situation, I am seeing trends.

I have finally put funds in place for a Mafell Erika 85 table saw.

My wife who also has workshop (kitchen) needs might have put the Erika hopes back again.
She works in the NHS.
Well Kitchenaid UK recently started offering a 30% discount for anybody in the NHS, you basically prove you work for them, and are granted the discount.

So my wife won the funds, and two weeks ago ordered a lot of Kitchenaid gadgets, and I do mean a lot.
When she ordered, everything was in stock, and delivery was stated at around ten days, unless she paid an expensive premium for delivery.
Our delivery date was between Friday gone and today. We got an email saying there are further delays and they cannot give any dates?
I understand the problems businesses are aving but, they took our money two weeks ago, and without dates, this becomes a risk in my opinion. So today we may well cancel, which is a shame, as my wife had ordered stuff for our daughter too.

I have done a bit of research, and noticed lots of deals being offered, this and the fact people are bored, may well of forced many sales that have sucked up all the stock?
Because there are so many items from various categories, now out of stock, and the ones who have stock, are selling at inflated prices.
I am an ice cream fan, I love the stuff, so a top end ice cream maker was planned by my wife as an upcoming birthday present.
My wife informed me she’d ordered one a few weeks ago, after a long confirmation wait, she was told it was now out of stock.
I’d seen them in stock at many suppliers at a discount price. In two weeks, they seem to have disappeared from earth, and the very few that have them in stock, are asking for nearly £100 extra on the price 🙄 (£350) 😮

This seems common here now, and many are saying when this coronavirus nightmare ends, many people will not be able to pay high prices, and a lot of manufacturers are said to be trying to find cheaper options for the masses.

Is this new Festool vacuum the start of an economy range, as in Germany they are already suffering financially as a result of lockdowns etc, and many most other countries will be just the same. Already the UK are looking at ways of creating a speedy financial recovery instead of a repeat of our last recession.

Things will have to be made cheaper, or the premium stuff will have to be re price structured to boost sales.

We may well see economy ranges from manufacturers in the future, even from Mafell! 🤭

Interesting, Cordless? The black hose looks a bit cheap. Wondering if its still Antistatic.

If nothing else, it means current MINI-I/MIDI-I owners (who are left without a replacement) have an upgrade path to a larger bin if they so desire, while retaining the built-in Bluetooth, so overall cheaper than the CT-26.

With the lack of garage, I have to wonder if Bluetooth is excluded as well, just like on the CT-15.

Mine lives full-time under the Kapex in my shop. It’s perfect.

Seems like it. There's no bt button on the panel.
The collection drum does look like it could be an easy swap for the ct 15, midi or mini, just without the front brake.
