New Festool jigsaw model?

The link on the first post was no longer existing. But it is alright because we already know that they are featuring the Carvex. I must say that it was indeed a nice tool for a change in carving wood works. Mig Welding

I have to add to this thread a minor off-topic comment... the dealers on this forum are fantastic and most of you have comments that say your local dealers you have dealt with are also on the ball.  Kinda wish it was the same here in Chandler... my local dealer doesn't even know how to use a quick-release vice (seriously... i taught him) and I tend to answer a bunch of Festool questions when I shop there because he stammers and has no clue.  The thanks I get is not being able to return a pint of stain because I admitted that I opened the lid and took a fingertip to what was on the lid and applied it to my scrap to determine it wouldn't work... the reason? "well, you opened it."  btw, had i brought the scrap to the store, they would have done the same and been okay with putting it back on the shelf "pre-opened".

Okay, back at it!

Let me guess who that is ;)

yeah, I'm on the fence with the whole battery thing. I hate that some tools will languish in the box not getting used while their battery loses life, gets outdated, surpassed by lighter, more efficient models. A corded tool just sits there waiting, not depreciating as much. For me that's important, as I might be hands off tools for three or four months at a time doing something else. Drills and drivers, no question, if you aren't drilling concrete or steel, it should be cordless.

I might have heard the Carvex has a base that hinges longitudinally to form a 90?, so you can split a pipe dead center. That would be clever.  ;D
But not clever enough to make me get a cordless jigsaw. Unless somebody invents cordless DC.

There is also a corded model of the Carvex. It's called the PS 400.

......I spoke to them today regarding the new jigsaw.  He tells me they are getting them in next month & that they will have interchangeable bases for carving etc.  Sounds interesting.....

I wonder if this new carving base is like the Collins coping foot.
Seems like it would mimic it, no?

In a post a while ago, Christian mentioned that the Carvex was so named as a reference to skiing - and "carving" down the slope.
