New Festool power adapter coming?

Wonder how the ETS would fair with one of the 12amp batteries, I have one of those, two 8amp and three 9amp that I use for my Milwaukee air compressor, blower and trimmers.  PS, I've used Stihl trimmers for 40 years, selling the two I have, Milwaukee's string is amazing.

Ya that could be interesting...the 5A is the largest I have as the rest of my tools are all small, drills, impacts, RA grinders, Sawzall, lighting etc. All my "outdoors" tools are Stihl but recently I purchased the Milwaukee hedge trimmer and it works as well as the Stihl and I think it's also lighter. Also been considering selling the Stihl chain saw and moving to the Milwaukee electric. Living in the city, the battery powered item would attract less attention.  [big grin]  Glad to hear about the string trimmer also, as I'm considering swapping that out too.

First I thought it was a fake image, but they seem to be genuine Festool dealers.

Got an email back from Festool today and it's official, the product in my original post IS A FAKE!

This is their reply:
"We have made the inquiry to our Product Specialists and they can confirm to us that this is a counterfeit product . This is certainly not ours, unless there are prototypes in circulation from an unknown project."

The wireless phone charger in my previous post however is a real Festool product and it will probably be available from September (in Germany)

nah i dont believe it [scratch chin]! Festool did the same when that photo of the Rotex 90 came out, told us that it was fake.. a month later they launcht it, so i never believe Festool when they say someting is fake :-*

In my reality that power adapter will be exellent for the upcoming KSC 60 miter saw, or maybe a tablesaw or dust extractor?

If it doesn’t work with the 3.1ah batteries, then sadly I won’t be buying it. That seems mad, and no logical reason!! Is this statement simply relative to those specs of run time?

4 of my 6 batteries are the 3.1 compact. Love those.

So it works with the 3.1 compact batteries, just not the 3.1 ergo ones from the sanders, which seems logical because of the shape.

To be honest, I've never understood why Festool came up with these "ergo" batteries for the sanders.
Why didn't they just make them so they work with the regular (or compact) batteries, it seems to work for the OSC 18 vecturo.

Sometimes I get the impression that there are multiple design teams working at Festool and they don't communicate at all.
A bit weird for a brand that is known for it's system integration.

Anyway, rant over, just had to get that off my chest  [big grin]

[member=66126]wpz[/member] , they didn't ask me, but I got the impression from all of the marketing materials that it was all about keeping the sanders properly balanced.  As you said, they could have just extended the body of the sander to let the battery hang farther back, but that would have probably screwed up the ergonomics, thus the "ergo" designation?  I'd imagine the sander would be awkward to grip with a square battery on it, even if it was still balanced.

The better question might be "who authorized the mains adapter for the Ergo battery but not the regular battery" at this point.

I thought my incorrect assumption seemed bonkers, but remembering the TCS won’t run on the 3.1ah I thought the trend was absurdly continuing.

Very glad that’s not the case, and will definitely be picking one of these up. I actually asked/prayed for it in the festool wish thread. With so many festool batteries knocking around in my daily life it will be super convenient to have this.

Maybe it was partly because of the mains adapter that they decided to make the battery a new shape, so you can't fit 2 of those mains adapters on 1 TSC 55.
I bet that would give some fireworks, especially if you plug them into 2 different electrical phases  [blink] [scared] [eek]

Except none of those are properly balanced. Not even close.

As for ergo adapter and no adapter for big batteries. Simples. Vastly differing power requirements. Where the sanders are all guaranteed to be 250-300 watt tops, the big batteries can easily be expected to deliver 1000 watts in some of the heavier tools like a HKC etc.
