new Festools January 2022 - battery powered CT SYS + MINI/MIDI + KAPEX

This is concerning the new CTLC-sys. I have the Dewalt flexvolt miter saw that runs two batteries and does a great job, I really only use it outdoors now but the point is that both batteries don’t have to be fully or equally charged charged to run it. I had to put a dead battery in there in a pinch and it worked until the charged battery was dead. I’m no electrician and I know it probably wasn’t the best on the batteries but I believe the two batteries are more about completing the circuit than being equally charged. I just felt like there was some confusion about having batteries solely dedicated to the CTLC-SYS. And we have the 7 1/4 cordless Dewalt miter saw that we use a lot so I’d love to replace that with the new Kapex 60!!

There is a difference between batteries in parallel and batteries in Series. The Festool documentation says '36V Turbine' so that would require batteries in series. So one battery empty = no go.

4Ah batteries is how the cookie crumbled. If they had made it 5.2Ah, there would be just as many people mad that it wasn't 6Ah. Or 9Ah......

It is what it is, folks.

Well, and why shouldn't they? Other brands don't have such a limit. Although at some point the battery cover might not fit. But the Festool one doesn't even seem to have a cover.

I keep going back and forth on this one. I like the cordless aspect and 15min would be fine for my needs. But I'm also near outlets where I'd use the CTC-Sys. Too bad they're not seemingly offering a corded adapter. That would be best of both for me.

Festool has the adapter for their cordless sanders, they just need to make one for their standard battery pack. Ironically just got an email from ToolNut this morning about a Metabo version of this.... Make it happen Festool!

I have the Metabo 36/18 tablesaw with that adapter.  First time I used it I tried using with my Honda 2200 generator, I immediately popped the breaker...turns out it's rated at 20 amps.

Yep it is what it is. Acceptance of this is what leads to mediocracy. I personally despise that statement it s for people who settle for what’s spoon fed them.

Feeling mighty about yourself, huh?! Passing judgment on other people, reckoning they settle for what they're spoon fed. 🤦🏾‍♂️.

Well dinve you aren't spoon fed, what are you gonna do about the size of the batteries for the cordless vacuum? It seems the product is about to be released, as designed 🤷🏾‍♂️

Did anyone get CTM Sys yet and can provide their feedback?

There's been a few posts on various Festool Facebook groups on it.  Not good is generally the feedback.  Some are saying less than 15 mins run time on medium/high suction.

I'd say use case would be for very niche applications.

So battery runtime as listed in the specsheet. How can that be a disappointment after buying...?
