Finally finished my new entrance door

It's made from European quarter sawn white oak .mainly made from offcuts from the door stops on our site

It's a somewhat unconventional construction as I've used 2 sheets of exterior ply to make a blank then applied the 12mm thick solid oak to each side

It's finished with MORRELLS OMNIA which has a preservative then 2 top coats

Ha ha I don't know what happened up there ^ 3 pictures the same and it's in general friendly chat not member projects .

Think I will give up

And I've had no beer lol

Thanks

It has taken me ages to do. But the main thing is the wife is now happy so I can spend some time and build my sys storage without getting grief

I 've fitted a few just like that. Quite common now with the plywood internal covered in timber.

That looks great, I would hurry up and build those sys ports though, you have made such a good job I can see your wife wanting oak windows to match  [unsure]

Doug

Impressive result, can imagine the wife is happy with the result too.
Big difference with old type

It does look great. How did you attach the wood to the plywood core?

Hi it was all grooved all around and then glued and cramped with a PU glue (I didn't know about tite bond 3 at the time ) with the occasional sneaky S/S pin when I was in trouble with the glue up

Doug the we have already had the window conversation. It could happen but I think will need at least a KAPEX Of2200 and probably a CMS To make the windows

I can't believe I made the new door without justifying a new purchase lol
