Hi All,

Literally just joined and thought Id throw out a quick hello from Alabama! I’ve already learned a ton just lurking around here and look forward to finally joining in the discussion. Made my first Festool purchase in the last couple weeks... an MFT and a TSC55K, can’t wait to get them into action soon. Some previous projects have included a few electric guitar builds, but in a couple months I’ll finally have a dedicated workshop to do some bigger stuff like built-ins and custom closets. Along those lines... has anyone bought the new TSC55 recently? If so, how long did it take you to get it? I’m on the dreaded back order list and don’t know whether to expect a few weeks or a few months? Thanks and glad to be here!

Welcome, I dont think anyone can give an accurate time line. I could be wrong but its a little crazy right now. I waited over 6 months for a sander. Hopefully you wont have to waot that long

[welcome] to the FOG!

The TSC55-K is definitely out there; two of them have been sold off on the Recon site in the last couple of weeks, including one just today.  Oddly, it was a "Plus", with the charger and batteries, but places like Beaver Tools claim to not have anything other than the "Basic" right now.  No idea how long they're taking to get into people's hands.

Enjoy!

Look forward to seeing your builds. How about pics of the guitars? Maybe start a topic in the project board?

Hi Matt,

At the Woodcraft in Chattanooga we have the TSC 55 K Basic in stock. We sold out of the set with the batteries and charger a while back. I just got to really work out with that saw a good bit today sawing bamboo plywood.....I must say, I am very impressed....I like it easily as much as my corded TS 55 and more than the older TSC 55. One path some people have decided to take is buying the Basic saw and grabbing one of the Festool 577080 Limited Edition Battery + Charger Energy Sets for another $395. It's not an ideal solution but if you have or plan to have other Festool cordless tools, it can work. If I'm at work, I can give you a spin on the tool if you ever find yourself in Chattanooga.

Yikes that’s a long one, hurry up and wait I guess! Glad I ordered a few months before I needed it... though I’ll start getting nervous by New Years.

Thanks! That adds a little bit of hope... sounds like I need to monitor that recon site more closely though.

That’s a great suggestion, definitely would love to find any other amateur guitar builders out there. This will be a good test of whether I can properly figure out attachments on this site... below should be my first two. Started simple with a Tele style (somehow convinced the wife to let me “roast” the neck in our oven ;D) and then went a little more complicated with the Strat style on the second.

Thanks! That's definitely good to know, I may have to consider that route. My initial order was thru Woodcraft, but for the full set... they already sent me the rail as well, so not sure the implications of canceling now. If there hasn't been any movement on that order in a month or two I might shoot you a message to check on your stock at that time. As mentioned above I don't need it right this instant, but I'm definitely itching to get my hands on one!

Interesting... I guess I don't have the attachments figured out after all... it appears to have duplicated the second pic. Here's the first:
