Hi All,

Just wanted to introduce myself...as a new Festool addict (Hi, I'm Shaun). I've been really wanting to make the Festool plunge for several years now...seeing the tools used in Fine Homebuilding, This Old House (Tom Silva using them), Gary Katz, etc...I like awesome, quality tools (Stabilia, HILTI, etc.) that I can take care of for a long time...even if I'm a DIY'r or might use for work or or property we might have. Just purchasing a rehab home last month has been the perfect excuse to go the Festool way (which I'm sure I'll be showing some of my work). I've built a home before with my Father and I as GC doing a fair amount of work, several remodels, commercial/industrial stuff at our company...I am always looking to get better (I [try to] learn from my mistakes), learn, and to push what I can do. I love the satisfaction of being tired from a hard days work. I hope to contribute as I have time with anything I've learned or am doing...I expect to learn quite a bit from you all.

I bought (about a month ago) a CT 36 HEPA and some other odds and ends (negative air machine HEPA) for the work area, ZIP Walls, etc. Last week I ordered a Fein SuperCut in a Systainer, a ETS 125, a Systainer for my sandpaper, and a TS 55 REQ track saw with 55" rail. Still waiting on the saw to arrive.

I think a Festool Router and a MFT might be next...domino later and a RO later. My projects coming up will be a new kitchen (semi-custom cabinets at this point...still have to meet with a custom builder)...but will be putting the Festool products to work on built-in's, a complete closet (that is larger than our existing bedroom!), and any other excuse to pull out my tools.

I'm a 32 years old, married to a wonderful women for the past 9+ years, we have a 21 month old son who is a lot of fun. Run a business and am a private pilot (was going the commercial route many years ago). So besides loving my family, God, country...I like economics, aviation, film, tools, german/british/italian cars.

Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Sounds like you are ready to dive right inhere.  I suspect that with the house work you have coming up a Rotex will be in your position sooner than you expect.

Thanks for the welcome Seth.  [smile] Yes, we will see on the RO. I have some overhead sanding to do and read that the ETS was good for that.

Yes, the ETS125 is very light. But keep in mind it is a fine finish sander. Short stroke , not very aggressive at all. What is the overhead work?

whoever makes a FOG account after a festool purchase is a festool addict. Because you just realized why didnt you take the plunge earlier and cannot find any fault to the tools.

Seth,

You'll be glad to know I ordered the RO 150 today, along the systainer for the 150 paper...and more track...and the cleaning kit.

I can't believe I missed your posts up until, so pardon me for being late but I still want to say [welcome] to the FOG!

I see that you ordered the RO150. I predict that you will be VERY happy with it!

Prior to reading that, I was going to suggest also looking at the Planex for your ceiling work. It really is a multi-talented machine, and has so much suction it will hang from the ceiling on its own!
