Hello all
Well the kapex arrived today along with ug cart and wings..
Having a check over it i noticed a few things...

left fence is a little out of square, right one seems stiff and fine when locked down.
The middle of the table (part that turns) sits about 1mm higher than the left and right.. does this at -45 / 90  and 45.
The left ug wing sits flush at the front and drops about 1.5mm down at the back, Must be due to V groove inaccuracy on the table? I haven't bothered with the right extension wing.
Do the slide bar bearings loosen a little bit with use as they seem a little stiff to get started which causes a small jump into a sliding cut.
anyone else have issues like this and how can they be resolved?

On a positive note the laser was set perfect and the cut is nice lol

Little disappointed as i was so excited and not to mention the cost! really don't want to go through he hassle of returning/replacement only o get another with same issues... especially if i can just tweak it myself.

Many Thanks

I had the same thing happen back in Feb. After seeking advise here and using it a bit (and too much dwelling on it) I shipped it to the service center. Been meaning to update the thread because the saw came back tuned perfectly with a laser flat bed and most issues gone. The ones that are still present I think will be fixed with some zero clearance mods and a better blade. Took a little time, but totally worth doing.

My table and wings are slightly out but not enough to be a problem. Try cutting a few mitres and check the angles because that was out on mine. I think the slide bar bearings tighten up over time if anything, need to lubricate mine occasionally. If not happy send it back, it cost enough.

i had to send mine back to be adjusted as it was out for 45 degree cuts. and i assume also for all others. it came back and seems wayyyy better. but theres a couple of things ill probably end up looking at myself. the ug wings when i attach them the left hand side seems to shoot off at a slight angle. not got round to that yet. probably something tiny to sort out really.

the laser to the right of the blade is about a mm or so too far over. and the one on the left the saw seems to cut bang on the right side of it... dunno how they are supposed to go though.

shame you cant get a new sticker to replace the one you poke holes into adjust the lasers like.

ive noticed ever so slight differnces in heights between the base and the side wings too but i guess end of the day its joinery not engineering

I have been tempted to send mine in since the lasers only work intermittently.  I just hate the idea of packaging that saw for a ride across the country.

Down here we don't have pack the Kapex up for transportation If the saw needs to be returned back to Festool, We just need to drop it off at the local Festool shop and they will pack it up in a special box to send it off to Festool.

Thanks guys
I shall have a play over the next few days, Make some picture frames or something.
I just don't want to be without it and the only other saw i'd consider is the bosch axial glide but man that's one ugly saw lol.

Hi James
