New Kool Aid Drinker

Hey Guys my name is Matt and I'm from central NJ. I just got into Festool in a big way (at least for me). I'm a hobbyist woodworker and I went to the New Jersey woodworking show and picked up a TS 55 R and a CT 26. I was just going to get the tracksaw but I'm such a sucker for a discount that I started thinking about getting a MFT/3 and how great it would be if I got in on a discount too. So being within 30 days of my tracksaw purchase I picked up a MFT/3 and ETS 150/3. I thought I was done for a good long time.

Then I hear that prices are going up so I'm like I was going to pick up the OF 1400 in a couple months... I might as well get it now before the price goes up. So I'm going to pick that up with a bunch of goodies as well.

So far in less then a month I got (or getting):
TS 55 R (Extra 55" Track)
CT 26 (w/ Boom arm & 36mm hose)
MFT/3 (Clamping Elements, 2 Quick Clamps)
ETS 150/5 (Assortment of Sandpaper)
OF 1400 (w/ accessories)

And all I can say is this Kool Aid is expensive but wow is it delicious!

Matt, Welcome to FOG.  I got into Festool just a few months ago and got a similar setup to yours.  Only differences being I got a CT36 and the RO125 for my first Festool sander.  Enjoy!

One thing I've done so far is built a "outfeed table" for the mft. To the right of the track I found it a little tricky to hold the piece up and cut. I guess a lot of guys are getting a second mft but that wasn't an option.

I've got that same rockwell stand.  Isn't it great!  The crank for the microadjustable height makes it so easy to use it as a makeshift outfeed support.

I highly suggest you consider getting either some Qwas dogs or Parf Dogs for your MFT.  They are very useful in so many different ways.  do a search and you will find loads of info on how to use these simple but very effect tools.

Good luck with your purchase/future purchases. But you touched on something here, that I think is important (at least to me)  - that you said getting a second MFT wasn't an option. I'm guessing that cost ($525.00) was the reason. But you took it upon yourself to make a damn nice substitute and saved some heavy coin in the process. Drink that Kool Aid with the rest of us, but glad you are not drinking enough to thinking it's the only drink in town!

I really have done it now. I've been reading too many of the posts on this site...

I purchased the Domino XL and the 8/10 & 12/14 domino kits!!!

The reason I went with the XL is I wanted something that could do it all and with the Seneca adapter it seems like this is it. I have some fairly big projects in the coming months with an outdoor table and benches along with a kitchen table and I didn't want to feel like I should  have gone bigger a little ways down the road.
