Hi , I'm having a hard time posting a topic question to the "Finishing / Sanding" sub. I choose 'New Topic', fill out all the forms, attach a couple images , dictate where I want them in the post and then click 'post' and it just loads a quarter of the way and the page goes white. The post is never posted and I've tried using different computers to no avail. Do I need a certain number of posts before I can start posting to tool sub forums? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

  Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Try again or modify your post to add pics. You should be good to go with pictures now that you have a couple posts.

[member=65992]ddudak[/member] Almost certainly the issue has to do with the size of your image.  Even though the Forum states that it can handle individual image sizes up to 10MB, in my experience it starts to get dicey once you get above 3MB, and instead of telling you that the image you're trying to post is too large, it will behave in the manner you describe and leave your post in limbo.  The problem of course is that most camera phones default now to taking very large, high-resolution images, so you have to manually resize the image (I've found that bringing it down to 1024 pixels is a safe bet, which translates to b/w 3-500kb).

Not sure what computer you're using, but on a PC there's a built in image editor feature when you right click and image and select edit.  There are also programs that due it on a whole batch of files, like the one mentioned in another thread by [member=57948]ChuckM[/member] :https://sourceforge.net/projects/icompress/?source=typ_redirect
