Just wanted to introduce myself and officially leave my lurker status behind.  I looked at my profile and saw that I joined way back in November of 2007 which coincides well with my first festool purchase...a TS55/CT22 package.

Since that time I've added an RO125, RAS115 and just lately the MFK700.  Needless to say I have a full blown Festool habit.

With much appreciation and many times awe I wanted to say that the stuff I've leaned and seen on the FOG has really blown me away.  The pictures of the projects and the tool reviews are both very humbling and inspirational at the same time.  You guys really have some skills!  ;D

I've been in and out of the consruction/capentry trades several times over the years and and now have reentered on a part-time basis.  I'm old enough to fondly remember actually using a hammer to pound those 10's and 16's.

I'm also very lucky in that I'm only a little over an hour away from the Festool Junkie brick and mortar store so I can just head east on the interstate and in no time be at Tiimy C's little slice of heaven.  I got to see the really big conference table in person on Saturday.  Wow!!!

I know I'll continue to get great information here from all of you and hopefully can offer some of my own knowedge from time to time.

Welcome on board. We're glad to have you. Sounds like you have found the slippery slope.

Have you done any projects with Festool yet?

Thanks for the welcome, Qwas.

Up to this point I haven't done much that would be considered fine woodworking that's for sure.  Mostly general carpentry type stuff from cutting tileboard to fitting door slabs to cutting some skirtboards.

I did strip an interior brick wall that had mutiple layers of paint with my Rotex and may the woodworking gods not curse me for a thousand years for doing that.  :)

I've got alot of built-ins and mouldings to replace and restore in my house that I've been meaning to get to.  Once I get started on that I'll feel more like an actual woodworker.

Don't feel too bad, my Festools see a lot of general carpentry use also. At least it's nice to be able to use them rather than having them sit around (that's what makes the woodworking gods mad).

When you start a Festool project, be sure to take some pictures and post it for us. It's always good to get some new ideas.

Feel free to jump in some posts and ask questions or help us out where you can. Enjoy the FOG!
