I've also almost finished my MFT/3-XXL. I am still missing the folding legs, which Festool has not yet delivered. They still have to be separated at the connecting bar and later connected according to the special depth. The table has 2.10 m x 1.10 m (special lengths of the Festool profile) and works very well with the installed stop system (https://benchdogs.co.uk/collections/fence-systems/products/1800mm-metric-fence-system-ver2-1). It is intended for cutting under the carport and is mobile. However, I will still build various optimizations on my CNC router for the table. But so I am flexible and push him in the garage simply folded against the wall.
I like also some implemented ideas from the dashboard tables (https://www.dashboardpws.com) very much.

I think this might be the first time I've heard "2.1m x 1.1m MFT" and "is mobile" in the same sentence together.

Looks nice!

Small update: Legs for the mobile MFT - with links for threading the Festool clamps for horizontal clamping.

You mentioned "Festool" folding legs, but on the pictures it seems like standard 80/20 profiles were used.

Is there some special FT parts which allow for this or just a question of a change in plans ?

I had ordered the original Festool legs, but they didn‘t delivered them. So I decided to make my own folding legs. They are cheaper and much more versatile, then the original ones. I can use the 8mm-slots for holding clamps. Thats a big game changer.
And with the diagonal bracing it‘s much more stable than the original legs although the table is 2.5 times larger.

Best regards,
Pierre

Looking very good.  Have been mulling this kind of thing around for a little bit myself.  Only thing stopping me is where are you sourcing the Festool Rail profile?

I have 8020 throughout my shop and shop furniture, but if going to do this want the corner pieces that are on the MFT and hence need the longer profile that match Festool MFT.

Any info on where you were able to source them would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy the rail in 2 x 2 metre lengths, from Festool. Part # 496824. This is in Australia, not sure of it's status in the rest of the world.

Hmmm...$496 for 2 x 2m it looks, that'd be very handy indeed.

For the record, these can could be had in Europe for around €300 which is IMO very reasonable.

A weight-equivalent ALU profile - 45x45 at 2.1kg/meter - is €50/m over here. Makes it €200 for 2x2m of a bog-standard mass-made profile ...

EDIT: seems the 496824 SKU was discontinued since

Thanks for the help and supplying the part number.  Got the profiles ordered and now just have to wait.  Also ordered some 1010 profile from 8020 for the middle support and such.
Thanks again for the help.

Damn, that was quick.  Got my profiles today.  Also I ordered qty  (2) on parts supply’s website.  Actually got (4) profiles so the part number is actually for (2) profiles.  I am sure I will come up with something at some point.  Thanks again for the help

Good luck with the tinkering…

Hi everybody,

Looks great!

Can you tell us what profile you used to support the tabletop from beneath?

And since I move with the table only in the outdoor area of our house or property (not comparable with American property sizes), I have built two small rolling boards for temporary mounting on the lower cross profile of the table. This allows me to get the monster transported and set up on my own. This size is the ultimate tool for me. However, for the American market, I have no problem recommending Robert's Dashboard MFTs. They are very well thought out and much of that concept has gone into my table. The additional attachments are of excellent quality.

Hi Pierre,

I like the outrigger tables you built for your workbench.  I built a 1x2 meter mobile workbench for my basement shop and want to add similar tables to mine.  The Dash-Board tables won't work for me, so I'll have to do what you did and build my own.  However, I want the support legs on my tables to attach to the bottom 4040 rail.  This way I won't have to keep adjusting them for my uneven floor tiles as I move the workbench around.

Mike,
Near Darmstadt

I guess I missed my chance to trademark "Outrigger." ;)

But it's not too late to open a European distribution center!!!  [big grin]

I bought your guide rail bracket set for my workbench project when I still had access to the USPS through the military system.  Now that I'm retired and no longer have the access, buying products from the U.S. is difficult and much more expensive because of the international shipping, import duties, and value added tax.
