You can buy the rail in 2 x 2 metre lengths, from Festool. Part # 496824. This is in Australia, not sure of it's status in the rest of the world.

Hmmm...$496 for 2 x 2m it looks, that'd be very handy indeed.

For the record, these can be had in Europe for around €300 which is IMO very reasonable.

A weight-equivalent ALU profile - 45x45 at 2.1kg/meter - is €50/m over here. Makes it €200 for 2x2m of a bog-standard mass-made profile ...

Apparently, the MFT/3-TP part #496824 was discontinued since. At the time I wrote it several etailers had it listed and it could found on idealo.de.

What medicusdkfz suggested is probably the best (only ?) option now.
