New Post Alert in Browser Title Bar

I left the forum open on both IE and Chrome (I have Chrome installed if I want to use a site that doesn't work well with IE), IE was much later with the notification, but when it finally did work it said (142), while chrome was on (2). and when I refreshed, there were only 2 new posts. (btw while I'm typing this reply, there's a (2))

edit/ seems to work fine now.

Will try not to hurt myself. I stretched for the last 5 minutes.

I really like this feature, it rocks for me.  [big grin]

Ouch. Think I still tweaked something. Arms are just not meant to bend like that.

Works just fine on Safari. I have FOG open in a tab, if someone posts the count changes, makes it easy when I'm on another forum. I was gone all day (actually stopped by the N. A. mother ship in Lebanon to drop off my RAS for service), when I got back here and opened my laptop the tab showed (142).

Where does it display in Safari? I don't see it. Maybe I don't have something turned on but I can't figure what it is.

It cleared when I clicked on this post, I'll take a screen shot when when shows and I'll post it.

Right here. This is Safari for Windows. It's the number in parentheses.

It will only appear when there's a new post BEFORE you refresh the FOG in your browser.

Don't see it but it's not a big deal for me. My banner looks different so something must be set up differently like I don't have something showing. As I said, it's not a big deal and I'll fool around with it when I have time.

Screen shot I just took, (6) next to FOG in tab bar.

It's *kinda* working for me. Attached screen shot shows an indication of 101 new posts, but it's not accurate. Not sure where the difference comes from?

Edit: by the time I did the screen capture the number had changed to 5. Weird...

Where do you see 101?

I see it showing (5).

I will continue to count until you refresh the page. Is it possible it had been sitting there idle for an extended period?

Based on my post count you wouldn't think so, would you?

[tongue]

But in this case I had multiple windows open to the FOG, and this one probably had been sitting there open in the background. I still can't imagine having 101 unread, but I suppose it's possible...

FWIW I don't see it in Firefox on Mac

Define idle...I checked in last night, checked in this morning and that's the pict. Between my last post here and coming back just now there are 3 or 4 posts between but no number in the tab, haven't ever seen a number in the tab.

Well, idle varies. On average, there's a post on here every 5 minutes or so I'd say. The browser must be left open to the FOG and not refreshed.

Did you leave your browser open all that time or did you close it? And, was the FOG an open tab in your browser during that time?

I don't have access to a Mac, so I can't test it. But I know it works with Firefox on PC.
