Well, I really really wanted to like, but, excepting the COMBI which has its own conceptual issues, this is a lost opportunity.

There is no benefit compared to a T-Loc, even the added height (+15 mm over a T-Loc version) is wasted on needlessly high gaps between the drawers.

I also do not understand the "deep" drawer thing. Did anyone actually think about how a non-slides drawer is used? How it can be loaded before it becomes a problem ?

Sure, having a double+ high drawer option is nice. But it would make a LOT of sense if the top one or two drawers used the additional 15 mm height so that they can accept the new SYS-ORG inserts directly. Nope, not even that.

I cannot help it, but this release completely aligns with the "corporate" smell the whole SYS3 line reeks of. There is no elegance, no spirit, no invention nor inovation. Almost like an AI-designed product commissioned by the finance department.

It is just sad.

EDIT:
apparently the SYS ORG style inserts are compatible with (all) the drawers

Now bulky stuff does not always have to come with a lot of weight.

For the rest, I really don't care much about the Sys3 offerings these days. I have some of the organizers that I like and they integrate well with my T-Loc setup ...

Besides that, the Bott partnership is what it is. I know the running gag, but funny enough, in our neighborhood there must be someone who works at/for/with Bott, as I see the corporate van to demo the racking every day around here.

Kind regards,
Oliver

I really really like the deep drawer, I hope it is possible to disassemble the sortainer, to make a one-piece 3-drawer systainer with only the deep drawers. Would be perfect for battery tools in the bottom of my tooltower. Right now I use a 3-drawer sortainer made form the old classic systainers, but the drawers are pretty flimsey, and its not working 100%.

I see no gaps on the side of any of those units to indicate that they are in any way modular like the old Sortainers were.  Similarly, the drawer openings are molded into the unit and fixed in place.

This is likely due to the Bott integration.

One will not be able to make franken-Sortainers like one used to.

I like the deep drawer, I do see the point of not ideal with heavy stuff in it - it would totally depend on the drawer slides. Still, it would be useful.

I believe it is computergenerated pictures. On the real pictures Ive found, I see gaps. Frankenstein-sortainers here I come.

Ive made a Sortainer from the Classic ones, with 3 big drawers. Unfortunately, the drawers are too flimsey, and not quite tall enough, to do the job good.

Festool getting closer but still somewhat missing the mark compared to other options on the market.

I caught these images on social media yesterday and today.  Looks like Systainer3 line up will be getting an updated SYS-Sort, now known as the Systainer3 Sortainer and updated Systainer3 Combis.

I don't have any other details at this time but will get a "coming soon" product page posted once I do.
From what I can tell, here are the changes:
  • Styling updated to be Systainer3
  • The outside portions of the drawer look to fit the same Bott Insert Bins as the Organizers

What do you think?

Wow.  Is that real?  Where did you get that?

This one would certainly be something new and interesting.
What would you use it for?

They are all on festool.co.uk

Tools in the bottom, accessories in the top. Not sure which until I can get hold of one  [laughing]

Id like to see a 2 drawer model with the drawers evenly split. the current strainers aren't deep enough for a lot of what I want to use them for and I dont have a huge need for a small and "double drawer" when an evenly split 2 drawer would work

Ya this would be sweet, also wouldn’t mind some double drawers in the sys3 L format. Even that drawer combo with the small upper drawer would be great in the L format
