new Tanos T-loc Sortainer and Combi systainers

These look sweet, for sure! No word from Festool yet on these and I expect it might be a while before we see them AINA, but I could be wrong. Smart evolution of the system. These will be a very nice addition.

Anyone have a link to those spirit level holders? I swear I've seen them before.

There supposedly is a Tanos-dealer in Wendouree Victoria, called SFI: sales@sfiaust.com.au Ask them!

I've dropped them a line ... Their web site doesn't look promising, but you never know.

[member=13058]Kev[/member] you best me too it,
I have vague memories of a couple of years ago, going down this Tanos in Aus road, and each time was met with a dead end. Hopefully someone will start to stock Tanos in Aus soon.
They sell some really useful gear that Festool don't stock like the empty drill and bit holders that clip into the top of the attic lids, fortunately small items like these can be imported from the UK but larger items like systainers just get too expensive.

Great.
Now I will buy more sortainers. The non T loc is the reason I have not bought more already.

Ollie

Hmm, if these make it to the States I think my Kreg jig will finally make it into a Systainer.

Hmm, just looking at that Tanos PDF again. It looks like the main dividers (front-to-back) in the drawers are permanently fixed. [sad]

That severely limits what can be put in them, I guess. I was thinking of getting one of the sys3-sized combos for my SDS drill - drill in the top, drill bits in the drawer. But any drill bits longer than around 250mm/10" won't fit in the drawer...

Edit: Maybe ignore the above? Just noticed it lists the 'separating webs' as coming with the systainer. Can't see why they'd list them as 'coming with' if they were permanent. But they're present, in the same position, in every picture. Can anyone clarify this?

All the new Q4-2015 products are already added to the EKAT recently.
Some of them are not complete yet. But the new systainers are.
The drawers are divided by two dividers which can be removed.

Fantastic!

Thanks, Neeleman! [big grin]

Let's hope they've made the top face of the drawer openings smooth, so stuff can't get jammed in like the current sortainers! Then they will be perfect!

Lucky for you!
I also wanted to use the drawers like the old ones when 250 mm depth is not enough.
Still a pity that there's no double height drawer like with the Classic Sortainers.
But maybe the new Combi systainers for fill that need.
But why there's no SYS-Combi 1?

I would bet that if the Combi is successful , then additional sizes will be added.

Personally I plan to continue using the old style and add the new in where the drawers will be a better size. The new drawers will be a compromise on height in the interest of uniformity.

Thinking about the non-uniformity of the classic sortainers made me realise they do have one advantage:

They always have to be on the bottom of a stack which is good because in my case at least they are all heavier and denser being full of fixings etc compared with any T-Locs that have tools or accs or papers in them.

They do look better though, do the new ones have small dividers cross ways between the long dividers or is it assumed the boxes will work (I don't like the little boxes at all!)

There are indeed dividers cross ways available.
But strange enough you need a foam filling at the back of some boxes to fill up the drawer.
Why didn't they make another larger grey box to fill up the extra space?

These look great.
Also, has anyone seen or bought the Milwaukee stackable storage bins.  I picked up 4 of them at HD and I really like them for small parts. I have numerous sortainers, and I think they are the top choice, but the Milwaukee ones are also pretty nice.

Can you post a link to these?

I see the classic sortainer have been taken off the UK Festool web site. I really hope they bring these out in a sys 3 like the classics

Looks like the bottom drawer would be inaccessible when in my MFTC and other cabinets. Not even sure I could modify the lip on my drawers to make it work. I like these but that, for me, would be a bummer.

I do really like the idea of having tooling and/or hardware in the same systainer as the tool.  I would end up with less, but larger, systainers but the consolidation would be convenient.
