I just picked up a used Kapex.  I notice that the saw is loud -- almost clunky sound.  From what I've read on the TS55, is this due to the gears in the motor?  (My old Dewalt was loud but the sound was smooth.)
I'm getting a lot of tear out on the top of my work piece as I push the blade through.  I haven't changed out the blade, which I assume is the obvious culprit.  Is there something else that might be causing this?
The plastic table inserts were very warped -- i called Festool USA and they are sending me new inserts. i guess this is a known problem?

I look forward to finding out if this thing meets expectations!

The Kapex should not sound "clunky". It is loud but it is a smooth sound like a mini jet engine vs a steam locomotive if you know what I mean.
I would definitely send your Kapex in for servicing.
Based on your description it sounds like the blade is also dull or not mounted properly.
The service number should be on a sticker on the Kapex.

Agree with Tim - definitely wouldn't describe the Kapex sound as clunky.  It's more of a smooth growl.

Agree...it sounds like a fine tuned sports car to me with turbo...smooth soundy and not clunky at all.

You're right.  Not clunky.  Not quite a finely tuned sports car, but not clunky.
