New tool announcement: VAC SYS System coming March 1!

[member=57769]TylerC[/member] Attempted to register the VacSys SE1 and Pump online. There does not appear to be a way to do that since there is no tool category or tool name listed for either. I love the tool though.

2. Classic systainers. A first world problem if ever there was one, but seriously, why? That forces them to the bottom of any pile when they're likely one of the first things you'll want to grab and set up.

I know a lot of people are talking about this coming in classic Systainers, but for the way VacSys is used, I actually prefer them, because the systainers never leave my Sysports. A classic Systainer can be left unlatched in a SysPort, but a T-Lok cannot. Oh, P.S. I'm mainly referring to the Systainer with the heads. It makes it much easier and faster to switch heads. My VacSys itself stays permanently on the table. I found that if I had to take the time to set it up, I was less inclined to use it for simple tasks.

4. The locking pin that holds the heads in is really difficult to grab ahold of with the head in the vertical position because there's a hose running right underneath it. It's also hard to see, causing me much more difficulty than I'd care to admit to when trying to figure out how to swap the heads.

In the 5+ years I have had a VacSys, I have never once latched the pin down. I'd have to go down to the shop to double check, but I think the only time that latch pin is doing anything, is when the vacuum is turned OFF. The vacuum itself will hold the suction pad to the frame. But I could be mistaken about this. Nevertheless, I have still never engaged it.

Thanks for bringing that up. The Vac Sys not fitting into a traditional tool category has created some hiccups in a few places. I'll look into this for you.

I just rotate the head 90 degrees forward (down) which allows me to see the pin and access it easier.

Also, replacement parts are not yet available on EKAT. The only exploded diagram and parts availability is for the vacuum pump only.

I assume the rubber lip seals for the individual heads are considered a disposable item and will be available as replacement items?
