Just had this come up on Twitter. Looks like Festool are doing new packages using the systainers with the drawers in the base. This rotex one looks a very good deal with all the accessories you get.

This is the official Festool UK page

Wow. List price here in South Africa is $US 1,100 at today's exchange, but includes 14%VAT .  This is also the sales price as there are no discounts here from the importer.  John

Axminster has it for 443 and that includes 20%VAT.

the ex VAT price is 369 which at the current exchange rate is 543USD

That price I think is for the regular RO 150 FEQ. The new package with abrasives etc is product 574817 in a combi systainer. Our first stock came in and went out before I could take any pics.

I like the idea, hopefully it will do well and more machines will be offered this way.

Personally this is not for me. I like the systainers to remain as small as possible. If I need any bits that don't fit into the tool's systainer I'll put them in another, or even makeup my own sys1 of accessories.

For jobs where I know I want the sander but none of the accesories, just a few sheets of paper, I'd hate to have to take that sys4.

I also resented the change when drills started coming in a sys2 not the sys1! And all so I can throw a few screws in the box/bins they've added!?

Obviously this new setup is great as an option. I just hope it stays an option and doesn't become the norm.

I love the Sys Combis.  I have four now, a II that I keep my Milwaukee hammerdrill, impact driver and four batteries in the sys, with all my accessories in the drawer.  Another II where I keep my Fein 18V supercut with accessories in the drawer.  A II that houses my MFK with the accessory bases in the drawer, and a III that has my 1010 in the top and bases and accessories in the drawer.  I just bought the Sortainer IV to keep my electronic testing equipment and parts.  Two of these I bought on Ebay while NAINA and happily the price I paid was right in the ball park of the current pricing.  [cool]

I like this idea, as long as the option remains to buy an RO in the regular T-Loc.  I bought an RO 125 in a classic systainer and I would love to put it in a T-Loc.  For me, putting the extra pads and paper in a Sys-Combi makes sense (point of use storage).  If I had a Festool router, I'd probably get one to hold bits and wrenches, too.  I thought I would buy a Sys-Combi for just my drills, but I have really considered one now for the RO.

Sadly I think they've got this very wrong! If they'd simply made a single drawer Systainer you could "extra kit" anything. I'm not a fan of this style of bundling ... it works for a few people, entices a few others to spend a bit more - but doesn't address the fundamental of providing a flexible system.

This is the classic case of a solution looking for a problem. Less marketing and more thinking and engineering please Festool [mad]

I would have liked that option - it would fit my circumstances.  And I only bought my RO150 this month!  [mad]

I like it. I see it as an additional option. The new style drawer systainers are still a recent item. Could be we see more variety , such as a single drawer and what not down the road.

There is an advantage with the combi over adding a single drawer unit. The single drawer unit would waste two inches (maybe a little more)  of height space over the combi due to the additional top and bottom.

Ultimately I would like to see both  plus more options such as drawer depth sizes.  I currently have items in the old style large drawers that will not fit in the new drawers. And the new drawers are too tall for a lot of things I have in the old style small drawers. But I like the add in of the new drawers because it is a size in between the old large  and old small.

not to hijack the thread but it is interesting that in the UK, Festool calls the price "non-binding price recommendation" where in the U.S., the dealer's heads get chopped off if they discount without permission.  I wonder why the company policy varies from country to country?

Hi
This is just a limited edition for the RO150 with the possibility of storing the accessories for the 3 applications. The production is limited and is an alternative to just a Systainer for the machine - I know of know plans to make this common practise.
