Hi guys, I thought I would just share my excitement with anyone that is interested, my wife and children don't understand my festool addiction and even my joiner work colleagues don't enjoy a good festool conversation. So I thought someone on the forum might share my excitement, anyway I've just built a new small workshop and purchased some tools which will be ready for collection on Friday so here it is-
Basic unit cms
Ts75 module support
Ts75
Router Module
Of2200 router
Cms sliding table
Domino xl
Domino assortment 12/14
Domino assortment 8/10
Domino 500 assortment systainer
Seneca rts-500 bit adaptor
Mft3 with bench dogs and parf dogs
Dewalt thicknesser

To say I am excited is an understatement, this is my biggest tool purchase to date, let me know your thoughts on my purchases.

No dust extractor of do you already have one?

Still pretty impressive!!
At the local Rocker they told me a retired executive new to woodworking came in one day and bought about $5-6000 of tools all at once. The story goes that his wife was there and she asked about resale value if he got bored after 6 months. Wonder what happened...he could be a member here.

Wow that is a lot of green cool-aid you are drinking. Plus you must have a very understanding wife.

That looks awesome. I had to wipe the drool off my screen as I was reading it. Some pics after you get them in your new shop would be great.

You are awesome dod,

great purchases, looks like you had a plan and knew what you needed

and since I havent seen your name before

[welcome]

Thanks for the responses, I've already got the sanders and extractors to accommodate. I've been planning these purchases for a long time and no the wife doesn't know the full cost.  Anyway I fitted the ts75 to the cms module and there is a bit of play in the riving knife from side to side has anyone got any experience of this, it certainly doesn't seem right to me, I should maybe have checked the riving knife in the saw before I fitted the bigger one on from the module.

I had a problem with my TS55R saw with the CMS module. In my case, the guard carrier (as Festool call it) was not properly aligned with the riving knife and it resulted in non-straight cuts. I solved the problem by adding a washer to the bolt that attaches the guard carrier to the riving knife. This resulted in more play in the riving knife/guard carrier combination but the problem went away. I personally wouldn't worry about play as long as the saw cuts ok. If you are at all worried, I suggest you contact John Street who is Festool's end user manager. He is an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable guy. I am now 100% happy with my CMS set up as a result of John's help. If you send me a pm, I'll give you his contact details.

The Festool UK Woodworking Sales Team (including John Street) publish their contact details online, including both email addresses and mobile numbers. Might be useful to someone looking for a contact.

Thanks for your reply Cliff, correct me if I'm wrong but I think on the ts55r you bolt the guard carrier on to the riving knife but on the ts75 you actually replace the riving knife, but you are right I think a washer would probably do the job, it's just I wouldn't expect to have to add a washer to a festool tool to make it function properly

I could never do this, the amount of tools would be so overwhelming I would probably have a heart attack and die [dead horse]

I am not sure how the guard carrier is attached on the TS75. In the case of my TS55R, the Festool guy (end user manager, John Street) who looked at my saw (he actually came to my house) thinks the issue is to do with the way the riving knife is attached to the saw rather than the way the guard carrier is attached to the riving knife. He adjusted my saw and it did make it better but I still needed to add a washer to avoid the carrier being locked in a slightly offset position. If he is correct, the same issue could be affecting your saw.  Now that I use the washer I don't have a problem when using the saw for rip or sliding table cuts. Note that I now have an LA stopper (highly recommended) which means you can apply more lateral pressure to maintain control.

If you have any concerns, I suggest contacting John Street.

That's alot at one time.  What are you planning to build?  Are you planning to sand or hand plane?  I didn't see sanders. An ETS 150 or 125 is a good start.  A lot of guys love the 150. I love my 125 because of it's lightness. (I like to also use it on the Y axis.      ) How are you going to cut curves? The Carvex 420 is worth checking into. Oh, the famous "slippery slope!"

Do you already have a festool vacumm? If not, that would be my next tool with both the 36mm and the 25mm hoses. I generally buy one tool at a time based on need...this way, I don't have tools that end up collecting the wrong kind of dust. I have both dominos, also.  They have put the word "easy" back into my vocabulary. Make sure to check out Paul Marcel's youtube video on calibrating the domino. ( Watch all of his videos... They are great!) My 500 needed calibration the XL was perfect, right out of the box. Man, the XL is a thing of beauty!  You will also need a Woodpecker square - to square your MFT table.  Greg Poulini has a good video on this.  Read all the manuals and watch all the festool videos with your tool in hand. Go slowly. Good luck.

Hi Guys,

Well the tools are set up in the new shop and it's almost organised, the workshop is quite small but it has been built adjoining my garage so I've got that area for storage as well.

In the first picture I put some of the systainers on pull out runners. The kapex bench top has got cutting length stops on it but the whole thing is sitting on Dominoes so it can easily be removed and put back to a flat bench if required.

In this picture you can see my home made boom arm and my fold down MFT extension.

If you can see any ways to improve it please let me know.
