I, on friday, found a couple of big boxes at my back door. This morning, I put the contents to a little practical use.
The contents of the main box was a new TS 55REQ.
I had to make a couple of cuts on 2x4 Fir. The new toy seemed to weigh about the same as my almost ancient ATF 55 when I took it out of the sustainer and mounted on the guide rail. I had not looked at the weight spec, as I was happy with the weight of the old ATF and figured Festoy would not add any extra to the new model.
As I started to push the saw across the rail, I had to stop. It seemed to glide with so much less weight resistance, i thought I was not settled properly on the rail. After checking everything out, I continued sliding into the cut. I only made two cuts, but I think the ease of the glide must be due to a slight change in the ergonomics. On Monday, I will be using it a lot more (taking day off from LS work) but I was very pleasantly surprised.
