Feed up with my ink jet printer trying to get the colours right, so I have bought a Epson stylus photo R3000 A3 printer. The price of the ink makes Festool look cheap. I am looking forward to getting some good prints from it.

Hi Mick. I've had the R2800 for several years now. This is my second one. The first had reached it's life span with over 10,000 prints. As for the cost of ink, epson has deals every month. Sometimes they offer buy one get one free. I haven't paid retail for paper or ink in years. I just stock up when the deals are on. You may need to go to epson.com and register.
Enjoy the printer it's a great machine.

Thanks JCLP I have registered with Epson, so bring on the deals.

I have looked into the replacement inks vidkid26 but am concerned how it will affect the waranty. I shall do this after the waranty runs out.

Many thanks for the replys.

Well done Mick, by all accounts it's a cracking printer. I'm after a 3880 at some point - hopefully next year.  [smile]

As to ciss i think only the permajet here in the uk doesn't effect the warranty - or they supply their own.

I currently have a 2100, purchased from fotospeed on ebay and their own ciss buggered the printer. I spent a week cleaning the heads etc. Then i got some empty refillable cartridges and the genuine larger 110/220ml cartridges from the various large format printers that use the same ink set as the 2100. Then i syphon off from the larger ones into the refillable cartridges. So i have effectively refillable genuine epson cartridges.  [big grin]

An empty ciss system with the above method would also be an option.
