I have been kicking around the idea of a NA Ford Transit Connect that is close to what you are got. I'm interested in how it fits for you and what all you can get in it.
The Ford Transit Connect has 6" long x 44" wide x 53" area behind the front seat. rumor has it that they might make a 8" long back end one for 2012 that would really help with the US 4'x8' sheet goods.
Any comments and pics would be great.
Cheers,
Steve

The Transit Connect is a small van which will not carry 8' x 4' sheet goods.
The Transit 280/350 like this will

There was a thread last year some time on the larger Transit being available some time this year on your side of the pond.

Yes at this time it won't take a 4"x8" Dealer said rumor that the Transit connect might get stretched to a 8" cargo area and 2012 might be the year that happens. that might work for me.
No word the the 280/350 here... Dodge as something close.....
Just want lots of doors so I can get to stuff without having to dig.
Cheers,
Steve

Got my LWB Traffic 6 months ago. My first one was the SWB & i just found it a little bit small. I could get about 12 sheets in it from corner to corner & the door shut. The LWB is a huge difference. I am sure you will make it work for you as you are used to a smaller van.
Woodguy.
The Transit Connect is really small! I have an Astro van with 170 cu ft of space behind the seats, the Transit Connect is only 140. It will be interesting if what you've heard is true, but until then I'm shopping for a Chevy Express or Ford E series.Steve R said:Guy Ashley said:Steve

I took a look at it.It's great, but not all good. It's just a mini-van without the back seats and windows.Steve R said:The Ford Transit Connect (USA) in the marketplace has opened some peoples eyes I just saw that Dodge is showing a "Ram C/V Cargo Van" to compete against the Ford Transit Connect (USA) the review states that it will hold 4' x 8" laying down. They give the interior height. It is also rated to tow, which the Ford Transit Connect (USA) is not.

Same here!Peter Halle said:I can't wait to see VW, Iveco, and other manufacturers from the other side of the pond put even more pressure on NA companies or subsidiaries or importers to bring to this market a wide range of vehicles to fit contractor's needs here.
This is NOT a political statement. I just personally would love to see more choices offered here by NA manufacturer's or if they choose not to - by someone else who will.
