What no logo on the top of the van?  You could be missing out if some guy is flying overhead! [poke]

You'll need something much bigger for all of your Festools [wink]

Make certain your phone number isn't interfered with on the sides with body profiles and door tracks!

http://rccjoinery.co.uk appears to be available ...

I no longer have a van, being largely based in New York City, but one thing to consider - keep your phone number on the sliding door only.  The text is going to be smaller, but it will always be visible, even if you're parked with the doors open.

When I had my van, the open door cut off the last two numbers, and the signage did me no good when parked.

Congrats on the new van!

Buy it here https://www.123-reg.co.uk/order/domain?X-CSRF-Token=35a207605531c052e6ae5d27a88fd73dc8fa61c8&domain=rccjoinery.co.uk&ajax_enabled=true

from https://www.123-reg.co.uk

(there' other options too, just search google for "domain name registration uk" if you don't like the look of 123-reg

http://www.names.co.uk/order/domains/search_results.php?mode=most+popular&hid=&mxhid=&oid=&sitemaker=&old_id=&old_id_check=&search_source=unknown

You can sort out hosting and the like later, all you really need is a home page and an email service hosting package for a few bucks a month ... just so you can have a few nice pics and your phone number till you get up to speed with it (i.e., don't waste a bucket of money - but at least make certain you've got the name).

The .uk and .com domain are available as well as the .co.uk one mentioned. Rare to get the opportunity to choose!

I have a number of domains registered through 123-reg, but I use tsohost.com for my website hosting.

If you want a guiding hand to sort out the registration, a "holding page" and email forwarding to a "normal" email account, I'd be happy to help. PM me.

Thanks Garry I will take you up on that offer I just need to get some money coming in again two weeks without a van is killing me ha ha

Grab Garry on that offer [wink] .. knowing the local hosting options and rates is valuable knowledge!

Thanks for clearing that up dean  it's a monster  [scared] but I felt the the transit custom L3 L3 looked a bit silly and it only holds a tonne  and I thought by the time you have tools in it then go to the merchants it wouldn't take much to be over loaded

Which oprions did you spec? I want air con, driving round london in this weather is too much.

Na no air on I don't think had it before never got the use of it so I'll probably pay for it now Scotland isn't normally  warm ha ha I got the trend pack and the place that I got it are putting in led load lights and a 240 convertor and a extra battery pack  I think it comes with a rubber floor too  but I think that might be a pay in the ass

No problem.

Domain registration

  • rccjoinery.com for 1 year will cost £8.99 (then £8.99 per year thereafter)
  • rccjoinery.uk for 1 year will cost £5.39 (then £5.39 per year thereafter)
  • rccjoinery.co.uk for 1 year will cost £5.39 (then £5.39 per year thereafter)

You can obviously have one, two or all three domains, and I can help you set them up in a way that you could get email to any of them forwarded on to your normal email address.

Website hosting

Lite hosting package is £14.99 per year and should be more than enough for you to have a holding page and maybe a gallery of your work.

I'll PM you my mobile number if you wanted to have a chat.

Regarding your phone number.....

My experience having my number on my van has never giving me a single job.

I have my number on both sides and rear.    I even get people asking me for my number while my van is right behind me.

People well.... round my area take no notice of van numbers.   People use people who have been recommended by some one. That's how I get my work via recommendation only or more work from previous clients.

Ill be removing my phone number of my van because one I don't get jobs from it so what's the point and two I do think it looks more professional with no phone number on your van.

It's like saying I'm that good I don't need to advertise my number  or something down those lines.

My mate had his number on his old van and he said he only ever got one job from it.   He's not long ago bought a newer van this time he decided not to bother with his phone number.   Said having his logo and name only makes it look less cluttered so keeping it a more clean look and straight to the point.

Trend pack sounds good as does the lesuire batt can do bit of camping when not working, did you lease hire or hire purchase or lump up? Are ford offering any decent deals, im thinking of changing mine.

Im with jmb on the adverts. Less is more. Never even bothered sign writing my vans at all.
