I use a Midi with different bags etc .Its a nice unit .Price i paid second hand means i could probably use it for a few years and still get my money back .
But I wanted another site hoover and here in the UK Nilfisk at "screwfix" had a offer for a wet and dry hoover for about £80.00. So lets say almost a 1/4 of the Festool new.
What would i buy today ? The Nilfisk 10000000000%. Its quieter .Very well built .Very useful .Fits all my tools .Much better at handling dirt. And in a emergency can cope with water .
I would like a thread to show what Festool actually make themselves rather than have re branded for them.
I don't think the vac in that article looks at all like the Festool vacs. Shape and styling is very different.
In the past Festool rebranded some of Nilfisk-Alto's vacs as their own. Their vac accessories are made by Nilfisk-Alto. And some of their other vacs like the CT22/33/44/55 were made by Kranzle.
But when Festool introduced the new type vacs like the CT 26/36/48, they said they had now set up their own venture to design and produce their vacs.
The rear wheels, front wheels, side latches on the two piece design, hose garage with center handle, and the front panel too, all look reminiscent of Festool CT vacs, imo.
The weight is listed as shipping weight, so that might mean container weight total not just the vac byself.. Still, 45 lbs versus about 30 lbs for the CT26 and 33 is a difference if that ended up being the appox. weight of the Nilfisk vacuum. [eek]
