I need to propose a layout for a new workshop in a retirement community. I’m donating my tools except for my “personal” tools like hand saws, planes, chisels, etc.

The layout includes 2 cyclone dust extractors, one large band saw, one regular band saw, big 8” jointer, big 15” planer, router table, Kapex, Sawstop Industrial table saw, big Oneway lathe, drum sander, stationary belt sander, floor drill press and 2 MFTs.

I think we will need 5 work benches and storage cabinets for people’s personal tools.

Of course, storage for lathe cutter tools will be needed.

I’d appreciate help and ideas on this layout.

Uses Grizzly equipment for the tools but most machines have similar foot prints. Plus you don't have to mess with learning Sketchup.

+1 on grizzly’s workshop planer. That was how I layed mine out. Thought about it for a bit and then changed some things, think I had 3 or 4 layouts until I was satisfied. Was a great tool to use.
You can use their machine, benches, shelves, etc... and resize it to fit your needs
