Since we are getting close to the end of 2012, I figured I would see what peoples resolutions are and what Festool you will either treat yourself to or ask someone to reward you with if you actually keep them.  I will start off with a couple:

1) If I can go from January 2 to February 2 (birthday), I will treat myself (or someone will treat) to an OF 1400.
2) Redesign my shop
3) Number 2 leads into this, get in the shop more and complete more projects

That's all that relates to this forum.

Happy New Year to All.

Bryan

My resolution is to double my billing for the year.  If I do that I can get any Festools that I want.  [thumbs up] [thumbs up]

Peter.  I like your thinking as I to hope to increase my cabinet making output this year

Sal,  based on what I have seen of your work, don't worry about significantly increased production.  Work on marketing and increasing profitability.  Please don't take this the wrong way.  You have skills to die for and you should be paid a premium.  That's all.

I resolve to get my Oneida Dust collection system up and running before the end of January!

I'm still trying to make my 2012 resolutions come true  [sad]

I don't keep resolutions per say, I just lay out some goals for the year.
I managed to accomplish everything I wag after in 2012 with the exception of setting up my own shop outside of film. 2013 I have no clue where I want to go, I suppose just keep momentum going and invest wisely. 2012 was very profitable and despite a few set backs ended on a high. Ready to rock 2013!

Oh and a Domino is first on my list.

Ghostfist,

I thought of you the other day.  I was watching some of the extra features on the Dark Knight Rises blu ray with my son.  I was astounded at Christopher Nolan's propensity to have sets built rather then use CGI. The magnitude of some of the sets that they built for that movie is unbelievable.

Huge features like that are always impressive. Especially a film like the dark knight as everything has a very dramatic feel to it. We completed Pacific Rim here in early 2012 and there were some truly amazing sets, giant robot heads and all. Last big feature here is the Robocop redo, still in production, I declined to work on this however due to a better offer on the tv show Suits which I spent most of the year on. No cool robot sets of but a good steady paycheck for the year. Sometimes the dollar wins.

Pay off enough on a credit card so I have enough room to buy a few new Festoys before the price increase. :D

I love that show...you get to do lots of finish carpentry, I would guess...I still think you have one of the coolest jobs!

It's a sad day when the dollar wins over building giant robot heads!  [sad]

I really wish our world was such that those with the creative talent were just free to do "stuff" ... as a planet we seem to pay an amazing number of people with no talent to do nothing  [mad]

My New Years Resolution.....

Find out who Ghostfist is so I can talk Festool at work and let him try my new C-15 kit!  [big grin] [cool] [wink]

Is Suits back for another season Ghostfist?

Have a good one,

Vi_k

I Saw that they had d scheduled start for suits in January, but we Just wrapped post production season 2 and don't even have a crew list for season 3. I don't imagine Season 3 will start airing until mid-late spring.

Who's Ghostfist? Are you in 873? send us a pm
