Just finished up this remodel. Home started out with grey cedar siding, awning windows, no porch on front, and no garage. Remodel consisted of new roof, extending the front roof over the new deck (porch). New front door, lap siding on front with 2' returns on sides then transitions to horizontal siding on the sides and back (fiber-cement JH siding). New facia, apron, new windows. Used 6x8 beams with 6x6 posts along with 2x6 handrail with 2x2 balusters (all fullcut roughsawn eastern white pine) on the porch and overhang support on the side of the house. New cultured stone wall with stone outside corners on the aprons. Built the new chimney. Added the garage door, and painted. Ran short on the lattice on the deck, winter storm blowing in. Will finish and touch up later in the week.

looks good.  that cold winter storms sure does put a krink in our work!  to freeking cold  ... today is was around 25-35 with colder wind chill hard to build cabinets... however, the customer we are working at lets us use inside the garage and i have a small heater. so it helps.

good luck with the rest of the project and thanks for posting.

Who ever painted the plumbing vent the same color as the roof should get a raise.
That is paying attention to the details.

Thanks for the comments. Big thing here in Missouri is vinyl siding (not for me). I started out in painting in California back in the 80's. Painting the roofjacks was a code there and just looked better. Moved to Missouri 14 years ago and people today still do not paint their roofjacks (vents). And they usually will not build a chimney for the flue.

I noticed that too! [smile] Nice looking job all round and attention to detail like that is sure to garner future work.
