Nice way to store TS55 while using MFT3

why is he cutting with a pull stroke first?  is it some kind of scoring cut for fiberboard?

I like the hook idea!

The material looks like melamine to me, perhaps his backwards scoring cut reduces chipping of the surface... ?

What a clever idea! I must do one on my rail! and yeah the backward cut is fot scoring the melamine he raised the blade so the blade radius is smaller and it does a flawless cut,

Pretty sure this idea was posted on the forum before. It was in a video. I don't remember if it was this particular video or not, but I seem to remember the person in the video I saw was cutting toward the camera. It is a neat idea, for sure.

Anybody know how that works?  Wonder if it would hold TS75?

Hi, new here. I dont think he is cutting at all backwards. He just has to pull the saw back from the holding device each time because of where it is. Its a good idea as long as not too heavy for the bracket.

The hose and power cord are crucial.  Notice how he has them perfectly positioned.  You have to have some kind of hose support or a boom.  Otherwise this method is a pain and is worse than setting the saw aside.

yeah, not the first cut.  look at starting with about 1:48 after he sets the stop.  he pulls the saw back adjusts the depth, pushes it forward and cuts pulling towards him then adjusts the depth again and cuts through.  i'm guessing it is in fact a scoring cut for that material, i just have not seen it before in any other videos

I love this!  Does anyone have a sketch of this with details on how it attaches to the rail!

I think the original thread referred to in the video's comment section may have been this one TS55 Garage.  It a lot more details, as well as a different, low-profile, design by vulcun.

I also recall a video posted a few months ago that looked like it was using a low profile design to achieve the same thing. The comments to that video indicated that the author had given his designs to FastCap and that they were panning on producing it for sale. I was also thinking about rigging up my own, but decided to wait to see what FastCap came up with it.

I love the products from FastCap. I hope they go to production with this.

Actually that was me.

It is one of those deals I don't know if there is enough interest. FastCap said they would build them but might just do it myself as I assume there are not that many people that need them.

I could be wrong. Have been before.

But I would not use my MFT with my TS55 without it.

And it works with TS75 as well.

Yes.  That is my garage.  Just look at it!  Is it possible to make something simple that complicated?  Yes it is.  If I'm in the room.

But I was scared.  I could just see it falling off somehow.  And I could see myself bumping into it since I wasn't used to something sticking out that far on the side of the MFT.

Actually all it takes is one little cleat at the base to catch and hold the saw on the track.

That is pretty cool.  I might have to copy one of those.

That one in the top post appears to make the DC work poorly though  [tongue]
