Well, in all honesty I was mostly posting in jest!;) Festool needs to come out with a TS415 as the dust extraction on this leaves a lot to be desired!

Ok, you guys are way too serious about this! And I want the sword saw to be available in NA!:)

Naww -  Nothing in your original post screamed 'humor', so we were just trying to help.

[big grin]

But if you want humor...

WHY ARE YOU CUTTING THE BACK OFF THAT SYSTAINER? Was it naughty or something?

???

Just to rub it in a little

I made this truss month ago or so  with the protool saw sword and protool chain saw.   Curves done with saw sword.

You posting with your iphone by any chance  [big grin] rotation required. Nice work.

Yeah,  doesn't make sense because on my phone it's the correct way up.  I am looking at it now on FOG.

I know what you mean cus I have experienced rotated images from other fog members.

Just odd

I really love this pic.
Years ago in my apprenticeship we put a church roof up like this.
The beams and joints were massive but I was too little into my time to appreciate the complexity and opportunity to build stuff like that.
I sure would love to do it now though.
I'm lucky to get lots of great work, some of it very intricate and complex but whoa this takes some beating.
Maybe someday I'll pop down and we can discuss the sections used, how it all goes together, tips and tricks to fit it and where on earth you get the timber.
Well done.
Scott

Holy smokes JMB, I have some major tool envy! That truss system turned out gorgeous!

And wow- i took another look at the photo I posted and sure enough, it really does look like I'm cutting into the systainer! I was actually using two short stacks as a tool rest for this saw.

gkaiseril- yeah, I've thought about getting a large worm drive for this purpose, but I use it so rarely that I muddle my way through with this. This particular project calls for a bunch of 3' sections of glulam to be used for structural knee braces so the end cuts need to be very smooth and accurate. The cut quality from this saw is hit and miss, so I have been cutting the sections to rough length and the using a sliding table saw for the final end trim with good results.
