One other thing: is anyone else annoyed by the fact the DeWalt did not consider the relationship of the dust hose to the outfeed table?  You can't fold up the add-on outfeed table against the machine for storage because it hits the dust hose.  Engineers at DeWalt must not have been communicating when they designed those features!

You got that right Matthew!  I think dust control was clearly an afterthought for DeWalt.  Same thing with their routers.  I used to use a DW621 connected to a shop vac.  Problem was that the hose connected on the top and wanted to topple the router every time I set it down.  I'm so glad that Festool seems to work DC in from the beginning!

I think most of the lunchbox planers are the same way.  They have a plastic port that's added to the back with thumbscrews and prevents the rear table from folding up.  Ridgid, DW, and Delta are that way at least.  Craftsman (maybe Palmgren) has one that has built in DC to it's own bag.  I think it'll close if you just remove the bag/hose, but it's the only one I know of.
