I am considering buying TS 55 for multiple projects.  One of the first will be building a new deck.  I will need to cut a 3x9 1/2 notch in 25 6x6 treated posts to hold the 2-2x10 beams.  Anyone ever done this with a Festool?
Thanks in Advance.

welcome to the fog.
proably not the idea tool for the job but it would work. i would build a jig that clamps onto the top of the  6x6  that widens it and gives you a place to put the rail. then its only a matter of cutting it across and chiseling out the waste.

You have three easy options that I can think off;
-The wormy Skil saw type or larger
-A hand saw, my favorite being a good Japanese pull saw
-Router with a 1/2 bit on a sled, Festool 2200 would be my choice because of dust collection.

I used the first two method on a couple of deck projects. Used the RAS115 to touch up the notch for perfect fit. For 4X material I use my trion and the long 4"3/4 blade.

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestions.  I think I will go my route on previous deck, my old circular saw, followed up by my faithful Sawsaw.  But, when it comes time to cut the 12 feet  of installed decking at a 45 degree angle, the TS 55 on a Guide Rail should be perfect.
