[attachthumb=2]One of the rare instances where the modifications were more expensive than the Festool item. Being able to use at a different heights and readily move to different spots greatly adds to the functionality of a small shop. I also made a smaller and lower base that can connect to the 2 MFT's and allows the Kapex setup to easily move as a whole.

Hi,

    Welcome to the forum!  [smile]

Nice set up. That height adjustable feature is very cool. I'd like to know some the details on the components and such.

Seth

Thanks to Seth, Ocram and Richy333. To answer Seth's q's, the screw jacks are 2.5T purchased from Jacton Industry in China. My first experience importing from there, thus a bit of uncertainty re the whole process. That went very well, they are a great company to do business with. The base was made from thermally modified poplar and oak. The shelf is from hardwood flooring remnants from prior remodels. Seth- I'm having a difficult time with photos-Your attachment has failed security checks and cannot be uploaded. Please consult the forum administrator.
Great- I'm cleared by security!

Kapex stand. Right now has pipe legs on one side to allow use of one of the MFT's elsewhere. Eventually will be self standing, but right now my priority is to finish the shop remodel.

What are the "alignment/support" posts? can you please provide the part numbers for your set up. Pretty simple and cool!

That doesn't look like you'll be able to swing left and right to the full extent that the Kapex allows. Have you tried that?

[member=45856]blaszcsj[/member]- I'm not sure what you mean by alignment/support posts. The screw jack and associated components- coupling bar etc are the only things that have part numbers. the screw jack's # is JTW-2.5T-US-H-I-C-PP/BB. Contact Warren Lee at Jacton. He is extremely helpful. It's important to know exactly how wide your base is going to be in order to center the contact points of the jacks.
@[member=1943]GarryMartin[/member]. Good eye! In it's present state, I can make 45 degree cuts and up to 45 degree bevels which is what I need. The only times I've needed more acute angles was when I was making trusses this summer and I'm glad I kept my 12 inch chop saw around after I purchased the Kapex as that was better for that task. That said, it's easy for me to modify the stand to allow for 60 degree cuts, but I won't do that until I need to as I've got lots to do elsewhere.
